In desert areas the problem is also that teritory itself is meaningless. What the kingdoms and empires controlled there were the known caravan routes, the cities and oases. The teritory around them was huge, empty and not really controlled by anyone. In that sense, you could draw arbitrary circles to delineate these empires.

True he did only Ethiopia but with the same borders as today and that was incorrect one can simply search on internet and see so many maps of Aksumite Kingdom and Later Abyssinia Empire to Ethiopia and how the borders changed. He failed to mention that Ethiopia was a modern Name too and that it never existed under the Solomonic dynasties. so much false information at the last part of the video.

As a Zimbabwean and a direct descendant of the House of Gorajena(White vulture) from the ancient Kingdom of Mutapa, I can say I feel happy that the Rozvi Empire was mentioned here. However, the term Rozvi comes from the Shona term Kurozva. The kingdom was called Rozvi not because they just plundered but because of their military prowess! They had never lost a war or battle from waring with local kingdoms to the Brits and Portuguese. They were just a formidable warrior state!

@@grantsoto6902 For الأسود (al-Aswad) mean : Black/ black skin (the word "Sudan" came from this word and literally mean black skin people). For العنسي (al-Ansi) : Depending from the way you read it, it could have multiple different meaning. Most oftenly, it refer to an Arabic tribe originated from Yemen. Nowaday, some tribe's member residing in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait. Aswad al- Ansi (الأسود العنسي) (meaning: Black Man of al Ansi tribe) actually was a name of a leader of al-ansi tribe in the past, he is a self-proclaimed prophet and proclaimed his prophethood toward the end of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad when Muhammad became ill after his final pilgrimage to Mecca. He is also known as Abhala bin Ka'ab (عبهلة بن كعب). Most of Muslim nowaday would known him as a fake prophet as the Quran proclaimed Muhammad as the last prophet in Islam and the revealation of the religion is completed upon Muhammad's death. But if theres one thing he is remember in history, when prophet Muhammad get ill he lead the al-Ansi tribe to invade Najran and most of Yemen. He attack the city of Sana'a and Shahr (ruler of Yemen and son of Badhan) was killed in a battle against Aswad. Aswad married Shahr's widow and declared himself the ruler of Yemen. He changes his title from Prophet of God to Rahman (the Most Merciful). His rule of Yemen however was short-lived. Fayruz al-Daylami, a Persian Muslim and companian of Prophet of Muhammad was sent by Muhammad to put down his rebellion. Aswad was attacked and killed by Fayruz al-Daylami. Learning of the Prophet Muhammad's demise, the follower of Aswad continued their revolt under the leadership of Qais bin Abi Yaghus. Eventually, Fayruz defeated them and they surrendered along with their leader.

Really great to see this. As a descendant of the Gbelegbuwa I, Oba of Ijebu Ode also known as Awujale it is exciting to see the Yoruba Kingdoms top tier of this count down. There's no apex. That's an European thing but one thing is for sure. The throne at ife which was the throne oduduwa ruled was respected by all, even after benin grew independent it still maintained ceremonial ties to the ooni(oghonenuhe) as a source of authority. In the 20th century a figure of the ooni of as uncovered underneath the old oba of benin palace. As for ijebus, I'm one myself specifically ijebu-remo and I can say we're fully yoruba. I mean is it decent from ife in terms of migrations and the monarchies, food, culture, spirituality and even language albeit a dialect but very much intelligible with other dialects so therefore we are a subgroup like manh others. The sudan links came out of a time when there was hysteria in connecting african kingdoms to North Africa or the middle East and because of politics of superiority the the past awujale published that story and the current one upheld it too. Asides from this there's absolutely no doubt we are yoruba

The narration is actually correct and its right, but the arrangement is not valid, due to not knowing that the Ooni of Ife is actually the direct descendant, palace and the acient crown of Ooni Oduduwa where all other Obas are traced to, including Alake of Egba, Alaafin of Oyo, Alaketu of Ketu, Olupopo of Popo both (today's Benin Republic), Omo N'Oba of Benin (Oranmiyan, the grandson of Oduduwa/son of Ooni Ogun) and Orangun of Ila (who's actually the first child of Oduduwa). Every other Obas are one way or the other the bore child/children by one of wives of Oduduwa or Ogun e.g Oluwo of Iwo is one of Oduduwa's wives, or family migrated from with crown from the palace Uhe/Ule-Ufe or Ile-Ife. Theres no reason to check apex among the Benin and Ooni, its direct understood that Oranmiyan the founder of Benin is son of Ogun and grandchild of Oduduwa. Benin just want to re-write history, by using the methodology of Oduduwa existence as direct from God to Oke Ora in Ife Wara or Otu Ife, before arriving Ile Ife to become the 3rd Ooni (not even the first), that Oduduwa actually came from them in Benin as a prince and then appeared and was made Ooni (thats nonesense). Meanwhile, the 16 families in Oke-Ora from 4 crown family of 16, among the families was next that introduced Oduduwa as 3rd Ooni. These 4 families are Giesi, Lafogido, Oshikola and Ogboru. Ooni Sijuwade was Ogboru line and this current Adeyeye Ojaja II is from Giesi line.

You should make a series of top 10 ancient dynasties next. I personally think it would be really cool if you ranked the dynasties from European, Asian and African Antiquity. Of course, a lot may be just legend or complete myth, so perhaps rank your certainty of their existence as well. That could add some spice to the lists I think.

Interesting that you only picked the Alouites from Morocco. Historically I would think Almoravides, then Almohades then Saadines then Alouites. The first two, controlled a vast area in both Africa and Europe. The Saadines were fighting the ottomans, the Spaniards, and the Portuguese. They in fact managed to keep the country independent while fighting the strongest empires of the Mediterranean. They also, literally destroyed the Portuguese empire.
