Just an FYI Ragdolls are supper chatty too! My daughter owns 2 of the most gorgeous critters. Leave it to my kid to find a violet cat, eh?! Guessing she's making up for all those years living with me & my stupid (yet _severe)_ allergy to dander. But they're puuurfect grandchildren! I get to love them only when I'm well drugged to do so, than leave, LoL! For those that don't know dander is dried saliva, urine & dead skin mixed together. These form a microscopic powder that gets on to clothing, furniture & stays behind for weeks after you or your pets leaves.🤗Hugs to you from your hometown city! ps. We're _trying_ to wish our rain to you guys, we know you need it so badly out there.

i don't know if you know, but from a genetic standpoint chuti and ketsls coat patterns aren't that different, both of their base colors are black, just that chuti has a copy of a white spotting gene, and no striping, while ketsl has also one copy of white spotting (just showing a bit differently) and a mackarel stripe pattern, which may be only one copy away from no stripe patterns!

As a joke my cousin (who has money enough to throw away) did an online dna test usually done with humans to learn ethnicity except he did it with his dog, rabbit and pig. Not separate tests, he took saliva samples of all three and mixed them in one vial then mailed it in. Couple of months later he gets the report saying he is 53% Unicorn, 36% Sasquatch, and 11% Loch Ness Monster. He got the report on April 1. Apparently the website has the same sense of humor that my cousin has.

"Brrr" sound is not weird at all, it's called a "trill" or a "chirp", which wild some cats also do. The cats trill to communicate that they are content and happy. The trills are normally exchanged by the bonded pairs of cats, pair mates, between siblings and parents in the family. Thus, Chuti recognizes you as the family and says: "all is great, keep on spoiling me".

11:00 That's a trill. It's my favorite noise a cat makes, because I feel it kind of equates to "excited elation" most of the time. My cat used to *only* trill to communicate, he's even learned trill tones; he's got low and high trills. Within the last year or so he's learned to do this whisper meow thing; like imagine a cat breathing out a "heh"; that's him. But in the good ol' days he just walked around cheeping like a parakeet.

My old cat was a Maine coon ragdoll mix and would tell you all about his day when you came home. He had such a wide rang of calls even my non cat person partner could understand him. He was a lot like Ketsl, except he always wanted cuddles. He would even sit next to bath tub and cry worriedly when I bathed. He would follower me room to room and sit next to me were ever I went. He knew how the laser pointer worked and would come over and bite it when he was done playing. He had basic dog commands and even sat nicely for his dinner. He was also very gentle, almost never used claws or teeth. Only time he scratched the dogs was when the oldest one as a puppy stole a treat from him for the third time during training. Yes he train right next to the dogs. He'd even work with them to hunt any critter dumb enough to come in the house. It been 5 years since he passed and I've yet to find a cat I liked well enough to adopt. Turns out I'm not really a cat person I was his person.

Ragdolls do not have a genetic mutation that makes them go limp - that's a misconception due to marketing. They have a propensity to go limp when picking them up because of their docile natures. I have a ragdoll with a pedigree and she's so easy-going but really, it's up to her when she goes limp. Sometimes it strikes her mood, sometimes she'll do it when my boyfriend picks her up and won't when I do it for a season. Many breeders - including the one I got mine from - will attest that the "limp gene" is marketing. Ann Baker was known to make up stories about the origin of her ragdolls, even claiming at one point that they had alien DNA! Whatever the truth may be, they are fantastic cats and I am so in love with the breed. You cannot ask for a better housecat, imo.

My Mom has one, and from the moment he arrived, I couldn't believe how calm and confident he was. I had expected him to hide under the couch for a day or two, but he didn't show the slightest concern as we followed him around. When he had completed his cursory assessment of the new surroundings, he walked from one side of a utility closet to the opposite side and sat on a paint can facing us all for the first time. He just sat and looked at us as if to say, "So this it huh?" I was stunned, and nicknamed him "Prince Hairy" due to his attitude of being Royalty, and he is a champion pure breed from a long line of champions, but he's also quite playful and energetic at times. =D

My boy Max has me convinced he is primarily Ragdoll. He is not tested, and was a rescue, so his origin is a dice roll, but given his history - got him at 8 months old from shelter after he was "discovered" to be in a no-cats apartment, entirely possible he is a bred Ragdoll. He has the correct white coat / blue eyes, and his point coloration is cream / orange. He certainly has the disposition, large and in charge, dedicated to his daddy, and incredibly docile and affectionate. Also more interested in humonns rather than the other cats. Loves to sleep with me, and will climb up to rub all over my face before settling down in my lap for as long as I can stay in one place. Can't imagine a better companion, although his two "brothers" give him a run for the money.

While talkativeness can be a result of genetics, it can also be a result of how a cat is raised. If you keep responding to a cat’s every meow past kitten hood, it can reinforce that behavior regardless of the cat’s genetics.

I have a short first name and two of them have learned it and will call or say it (as a short mew , if they wanted my attention), one would learn to ask for food as Fisssshh, Chick-Chick, or Beef. ( mew length and tone varied), she would also jump and open door handles to get the door open to go out, ( the other cat just said out to go out (short meow), the one that jumped would then jump onto the door and sit on the top of it.

I just didn't realize some of the connections. I would love to do this with my 2 cats. Both are calico but couldn't be more different. One is traditional colors with long hair, small bone structure, very aloof and very sporadic. The other has muted colors, short hair, pretty lazy and cuddly and a medium build. She's got a few physical quirks though and is love to find out if it's genetic or just random. Very interesting video!

@@snigdha8404 cats were never full domesticated like other animals were. theres multiple instances of them becoming as close to domesticated as we can with them and then them becoming wild again before becoming re semi domesticated. cats just showed up and helped people in exchange for shelter and pets since they moved into food storage to eat rodents and knew if they followed the humans around there would be food and a warm safe place to sleep. Egypt just documented it more and made them into children of a goddess due to this relationship since wild rodents bring in disease. they believed the cats were sent by the gods to hunt evil spirits (the diseases rodents carry) to protect them. so they were treated like the pharohs. it also took us a couple tries to domesticate dogs but we figured it out. Cats however are still semi wild and can live in the wild still (i wouldnt recommend a cat that only knew of the indoors be released into the wild they wouldnt survive due to not learning how to hunt properly like humans) thus the reason colonies of feral cats can thrive while packs of wild dogs have a much harder time. Cats also havent been so broken from breeding causing them to have the same genetic issues and malformations from breed to breed dogs do. it will take decades but most likely centuries to make dogs properly wild again while with cats need just a generation or 2.

We have 3 cats. Two are littermates. Their mom adopted us in 2009 before giving birth to 6 little balls of fur that summer. We still have 2 of them. Kitty #3 showed up at our door Sat after Thanksgiving in 2017. We believe she was no more than 8 wks old. We also believe someone dumped her. She has a mild case of Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Kitties #1 & #2 tolerate her but will not befriend her. For a few wks this winter, we regularly saw them all together on our bed but that seldom happens. Each had her own place -- not cuddled together. #3 has a very quiet meow & didn't find that until she was about 18 months old. We heard her because she was traveling with us. We finally figured out she needed to potty. Now we know. The older 2 won't travel. Being in a vehicle freaks them out. I could go on but won't.

If you sort of pet him on the belly while he's standing up, he will 'flop over' and let you rub his belly, or at least he used to - he's gotten stronger as he gets older, and he isn't as limp as he used to be. I have an Egyptian Mau, and I can tell you that the part about knowing that the laser comes out of the pointer in your hand, jumping five feet in the air, and chortling are all a trait of that breed. They are super smart, agile, run so fast it feels like they teleport, and so inquisitive that you feel compelled to let them know what you are up to, because if you don’t they keep making sounds or they get your attention in a different way that isn’t so nice. (Best to just talk to them rather than get nipped at for the ignore.) That sound Chuti makes is most definitely a chortle. My Sasha does it all the time, when she’s surprised and also when she walks into a room to ask ‘what is going on’, lol.

I've rescued cats for years here in Taiwan. My love that I found at 4 months old, sadly passed 2 years ago. I'd have loved to do this for him. He was HUGE, tabby colored, short haired, super friendly, bold, friends with dogs even, cuddly. Currently I have 3 young cats, all rescues. The first two we got when my old cats long term partner passed after sudden illness and he seemed lonely. They were found on the street at least then 3 weeks old, and likely litter mates. They were a slight distance from each other, the rescuers that found them, waited back for as long as they could, but no sign of mom, which is common, stray dogs, cars... Ppl putting out poison... Basically if the people didn't take them, the kittens wold have died. Interestingly, like yours one is a tabby and one is black, (not tuxedo, but does have a few spots of white hair, barely visible). They are short haired, the tabby is male, Eros, and the back is female, Asteria. Eros (tabby)is daring, cuddly, like your wants to be up on my neck/shoulder. But he does get nippy if you don't pay attention to him when he wants you to. He's also quite big. He also looks at the laser in my hand, rather than on the floor and can jump very high. Asteria (black) is small, shy. She has a kink in her tail. Balance issues. She nearly died after being fixed as well, some infection sprung up and she lost balance, then ability to walk. Took very strong antibiotics, but she recovered. She is talkative, and cuddly, likes to lay on my when I am sleeping. She is shier, but not super scared, when people come, she hides at first, but after 10mins, she'll join everyone. Our last cat we got after our big guy passed. He is white and orange, and his mother was to be a TNR whencit was discovered she was pregnant. She had 3 kittens, a full orange, our white and orange and a tortoise shell. (The 2 siblings wre adopted by my friend) my husband named him SweeSwee, which is Taiwanese for handsome... He is the most talkative, cuddly and purr-minator. He is friendly, but a bit dumber compared to Eros and Asteria. He is curious-killed-the-cat embodied, but it generally leads him to trouble. It's all too common here for people to buy breed cats and dogs and dump them when they no longer want them. Spay/neuter is becoming more common. Due to the likely crazy mix here, I don't think it's possible for me to guess their breeds. I'd love to get them tested.

I doubt that noise is genetic; my cat also made it and looked totally different. It's probably more dependent on whether the mother was in the habit of making it - I saw my cat grow up from a kitten to 5 years old, and when I first met her, she didn't even know how to properly meow or purr! She just squeaked, as did her siblings. They all had to learn how to make proper cat noises from their mom, so I doubt "brrp" is an exception. Mine made that particular noise whenever she was surprised or a touch irritated, I think, so if even the meaning can fluctuate, it's likely to be more nurture than nature.

I'm pretty familiar with littermates being total opposites. My family had a pair we adopted from a shelter, Rufus and Omar. Both were American Shorthair, but Rufus had all of the appearances of the Siamese, and Omar was standard grey/dark grey stripe tabby. Rufus was the only cat I have ever seen submit to a bath without a fight. Omar, we learned quickly, she would fight to the bitter end to not have a bath. Rufus was terrified of any and all dogs (including dogs smaller than him). Omar would routinely take on dogs 2 to 3 times her size and win (as well as bring us "gifts" for us to discover upon opening the door). Rufus was my brother's cat as much as my brother was Rufus's human, and the same could be said of myself and Omar.

Fantastic content, definitely makes me want to test my girl. She's extremely vocal (she always sounds angry but she's usually not), likes certain people but has lots of boundaries, and even runs up on the other animals and swings on em when she's mad 😂

The Scottish Fold's mutation doesn't just make its ears fold, its a mutation that affects the cartilage, not producing enough. these cats will have joint problems and arthritis, they will know pain simply for existing because their mutation is "cute".

In Sweden that cat breed is not approved because of breed health issues that cause pain.

Milo's a chonk, I love it. The way he lays on you reminds me of my cat Mia, every night she'd take up the same position on my chest. She had that same dog-like devotion to me, though she in general liked everybody (as long as they petted her). She passed away last December at the age of at least 21 (we're not sure how old she was exactly, she was picked up as a stray).

As an Abyssinian owner, abys aren't always red-orange. I personally have a blue-silver-faun, which is a combination of the blue-silver coat colour and the faun coat colour. Red-orange is the most popular but personally, I prefer blues, silvers and blue-silvers (there's also a new colouration of lilac too). The thing that bothers me the most is the blue-silver-faun variety of Abyssinian is literally in the first two rows at least twice if you search up the breed in google images, so there's no excuse to exclude them, but now more people get to fully believe that they're ONLY red-orange.

i had two that were(are) unlike any other cat i've ever owned. first one is Pollywog who was given to me by a coworker who was out in the woods metal detecting. he called me to tell me this tiny kitten ran from out of nowhere and climbed up his leg.... the guy is a yeti so this was no easy task for what had to be a five week old kitten. he took him home, called me for advice, but eventually gave him to me because the kitten was lonely while he was at work more than he was at home. so I raised him into a beautiful marble tabby. we referred to him as our Tacocat because the marbling on one side looked like the taco bell logo, the other side looked like a heart.... very muscular beefcake of a kitty with a face like Bengal and many similar personality traits. the funniest thing about his personality was how much he loved kittens, even letting them nurse) tummy rubs, pawing at your stomach until you let him under your shirt, and how he would just shove his head into your hand and smear every inch of his face into your palm. he'd do this every chance he got. We actually found him good home last week.... it wasn't easy but we rescue a LOT of cats and this person was just the perfect fit. when he first met him he was in awe of how beautiful he was. he still sends texts with pictures. thoroughly spoiled him with fancy food and his very own cat tree. the other is Killmouskie (who i still have) he and his sister were rescued at two weeks of age when one of those brush grabbers picked up some hurricane debris. the operator saw the kittens fall out of the mess and shut everything down. my friend called me to see if i could foster and feed them since the mother was no where around (huge feral cat population in the area) unfortunately his sister didn't survive an upper respiratory infection in spite of meds. KM barely survived it himself. he has claimed me as mom as a result. as soon as he was big enough to venture into the rest of the house he was glued to me. spent most of his time in my shirt or on my shoulder. very super chilled out, timid with strangers, loves his tummy rubbed and it's a good thing too because his fur isn't quite like the average cat's, and just like Pollywog, he would allow our other fosters to nurse on him..... it's more like a bobcat.. his coloration is also more like a bobcat's. i forget the official term but it's more like flecks and ticking than stripes or spots and his paws are this silvery sand color. He's definitely one of my more loyal cats. yes, probably because i bottle fed him and saw to literally every need. i've rescued a lot of cats in my life but these two are pretty much my favorites. i love all my cats, obviously, but Polly and KM just found ways to stand out from the average kitty personality.

Just a guess from your 2 kittens, they have 2 different fathers as can happen with cats from the same litter.

My cats are litter mates and you'd never know it. The only similarity is that they have identical striped tails. Leia: So anxious that she's on meds. She has no interest in venturing outdoors, she likes to just lay around and relax. She doesn't like new people but once she gets to know you, she will be constantly on top of you trying to get pets. She will even lick your nose will you sleep in order for you to wake up and give her all the attention in the world. She's white with brown spots and incredibly soft. She has two brown spots on her ears that look much like Princess Leia's space buns, and you could say her white pelt resembles Leia's white robe. Luke: Super courageous and adventurous. He loves the outdoors and would gladly live outside if we let him, he's run head first into windows many times (including today) just to watch the birds. He's really not into physical attention other than belly scratches but loves meeting new people. He enjoys playing with everything and has a few favorite stuffed animals and balls that he insists playing fetch with all day. He loves stuffed animals so much that he'll steal them from my daughter's room. Luke is brown with darker brown stripes and a white chest and face. The way the white splits the brown on his head/face, we think it looks like Luke Skywalker's hair in the original trilogy, and the brown on his body with the white chest looks like classic Jedi attire. Not only are the cats siblings that resemble their namesakes, they were adopted on May the 4th (May the Force/Star Wars Day) and their foster mom had a rebel tattoo that we didn't know about until we picked up our sweet babies. For anyone who read this entire thing, thank you for coming to my TedTalk

Your description of Milo being “over the top” cracked me up. I’m staying with my daughter and her Maine Coon is obsessed with me. He sits on the arm of the couch and stares at me for hours! Of course I don’t mind one bit…he’s a love bug!
