Useless (but cool) Nintendo Trivia: In Super Smash Bros, the screen that appears when there is no controller plugged to the Nintendo 64 was updated in the iQue version, translating the text saying to connect a controller to chinese and even changing the N64 controller behind the text to the iQue one! However, as the iQue controller IS the console, the controller is always plugged in, so it's impossible to see this screen in-game...

Maybe the translator didn't or never know that iQue player is an Plug n Play console and just translate everything as is?

the first one made me think of something similar with the pokeball plus on switch actually if you use the pokeball plus to navigate the home menu, it actually has it's own controller icon different from joycons and pro controller. the icon looks nothing like a pokeball, and instead looks more like an snes controller

Well maybe they should reused it for everytime the take down a fan game, bragging how they took down the “criminal” responsible for “damaging their brand” and causing “employee morale support to lower”, when it’s Nintendo’s lawyers who are damaging the company’s reputation.

One of my favorite typos is on the alternate retro flip cover for Metroid Samus Returns, where it calls the titular creatures "Metrioids". It's extra funny since the Amiibo Double Pack for use with the game also has a typo, where it calls the 3DS game "Metroid Return of Samus" instead of the normal Samus Returns. Crazy that there are two different instances of typos for the same game, but from different sources.

@Akfamilyhome suggestion for number 4: You may have heard of Mario Bros. Classic on the GBA, it’s packed in with every Mario Advance game on the GBA. But what you might not have realized, or in this case… listened and paid close attention to, is the fact that each Mario Advance game uses different soundfonts! Because of that, the game selection music as well as the title music for Mario Bros. Classic actually sound different with each game!

Useless bit of trivia I know: The PAL version of the Game Genie (at least the one I own) was distributed by "Hornby Hobbies". Now, before you decide to jokingly remove the 'b' from Hornby, in the UK (PAL region), Hornby is a really popular model train company. So essentially Hornby has distributed the Game Genie before. Damn.

@@Toonrick12 Not that I know of. Hornby is still active to this very day. They don't distribute cheating devices for the PAL region anymore, they just make OO guage model locomotives.

Idk if this is an obscure enough fact to include, but did you realize Mr. Game & Watch's render in Smash Ultimate depicts his Smash 4 up tilt? It can't be from Ultimate, as Game & Watch's form will change for the animation in game.

I really do miss the Arcade Bunny, it was a lot of fun seeing him geek out and just talk to us almost weekly with new dialogue. I really do hope they do something with him down the line and don't leave him behind.

this iQue Player, i would love to mode this into a controller for a regular N64, the shape looks way better to handle than the original controller, but i never even seen one in person....

The iQue Player was released after GameCube, though, and internationally I doubt much people would want a brand new N64 at that point. As far as I know, the reason iQue Player was N64 rather than GameCube was that the founder of iQue previously worked on N64 as a former SGI employee, and they also wanted to make a console that's compact so that parents can easily lock it away for parental control purpose. Otherwise there's not much reason not to bring GameCube to mainland China.

Bootleg games having level selects is fairly common, actually. There are many of those "10000 games in 1" where many of the games are just the same game but hacked to start in a different level. I'm pretty sure Joel played one of those too!

Useless trivia: the official Zelda encyclopedia, at least the simplified Chinese version, listed Zelda Twilight Princess as also being on Nvidia Shield. While it is true, it's kinda odd because officially, Nintendo almost never acknowledge these old simplified Chinese release even though they technically have the full right of those (after fully acquiring iQue).

here's some neat nintendo trivia: new super mario bros wii was released not just on the wii, but also on the nvidia shield tv! the nvidia shield port was only released in china, and it's notably rendered in high definition, compared to the fuzzy mess that is the wii. what's also interesting about this version is that it came out eight whole years after new super mario bros wii's 2008 release, all the way in december of 2017!

here's a fun fact: pokemon diamond and Pearl and pokemon heartgold and soulsilver use entirely different soundfonts from each other, youccan hear thus when comparing the battle frontier music, this is weird because RSE and FRLG share soundfonts, along with BW and B2W2

Actually, (at least from my knowledge) Mewtroid does actually appear again in Warioware Move it. She’s in some micro-game where you have to time a punch those weird fly things. (Making a quick edit here. if you’re referring to the amount of times that certain mini game appears, then you are still right. But if you referring to the amount of times the character has appeared, then it’s 4… if I didn’t overlook anything lol)
