Fabric is always my first consideration, I can’t wear synthetics on my torso in any weather (a loose polyester skirt might be ok for seasons other than summer, but I buy silk ones whenever I can - the selection is limited). I love linen, cotton and silk, followed by lyocell, rayon and viscose for summer. The last two fabrics, manmade from plant fibers, vary tremendously in quality, so I tend to look at better brands for items in those; fast-fashion ones aren’t good at all (thin, limp, pucker, shrink, etc.) Lyocell, rayon and viscose are all highly breathable and have many other silk-like properties, but cheap viscose uses a much more toxic manufacturing process than rayon. There are new eco-friendly viscose fabrics, like Ecovero, that are high-quality, lower water usage and made with non-toxic processes; they’re really nice.

Great tips, thank you! Fabric choice is so important, both for functionality and sustainability reasons 👌🏻 very much appreciate your comment and these tips which I’m sure many others will benefit from too. All the best, Signe xx

During my career, we wore “tropical weight wool” skirt suits year-round, but what made them comfortable is the rayon, not polyester, linings. It’s nearly impossible nowadays to find blazers that aren’t lined in polyester, I just can’t wear them!

Linen is the best :) besides your natural colours one can add some pink or green 💚💓

I will think about that… translating my favorite things / staples into summer items. Summer is my most difficult season to dress for as I prefer to cover up my body and be cozy. Sometimes with summer when I do that I look very maternal. I’ll think about it on how I can easily / low buy something cozy and breathable.

Down here in florida if I wore wool i might actually get heat stroke regardless of how thin it is, and the thought of wearing a denim skirt in the heat makes me want to cry. 😭 A straw bag and linen shirts/shorts are essential though. One thing I would add to this list is a hat!! And biker shorts that are long enough to stop my thighs from chafing.

These are gorgeous combinations and the discussion of fabrics was really helpful. I never thought of using tencel in the heat and I'm going to try it. Heat in Mexico where I am in the summer is obviously really different than in Denmark. One difference in choices I make is that I will wear a lot more white. It just seems to reflect the sun away better than any other color. Also, I like long sleeve loose linen shirts worn open over a sleeveless tank, so you can take the shirt off when you are in the shade and try to catch a breeze on your skin. And I really rely on my white Coolibar sunhat!

Another great video - thank you! Fabric is so important in the heat and the cold. I live in Australia and often head to Europe for the European summer. In the heat I always choose linen and cotton as they are more comfortable. Dresses are always more comfortable in the heat because you don’t want anything tight around your waist. The other thing about summer in a hot climate is that you won’t need that third piece so I often use colour to complete my outfit. A blazer would be useless in our summers but I might take a denim jacket or a light wrap out at night. But if we go the snow in Europe it’s wool and cashmere all the way! We’re currently in a Canberra winter so Im living in a puffy jacket. Hanging out for summer!

I am paying more attention to fabrics now the menopause has started. I find loose cotton clothing day and night is the best. My skin gets very irritated easily with anything else. Thank you.

l wear lightweight hiking trousers in the summer, in place of jeans. my Craghoppers are actually quite a plan, classic cut - no extra seams or thigh pockets or anything. they are also beige! my navy ones do have the seams and thigh pockets so are much more casual looking.

Love your informations about fabrics. I love to buy second hand and I always look for natural materials. I became a Pro, even if the tag is off 😉 but I struggle with the protection against months. I pack everything in plastic bags in winter but after a couple of years I have moth holes, now matter how much I care... With silk ist the problem, that some sweat or other stains are so difficult to remove... But I am so inspirated to buy these anti sweat t shirts; because I am always on my bike or running around. So this Sounds genius!!! And btw I love the "new" eco friendly materials like modal, tencel and eco friendly viscose especially for sports! For years there seemed to be just polyester for sports garments. 💕

For the dry fit undershirt there is a brand called Numi that ships to the USA. I am from SoCal and use these everyday and it has saved my clothes on 98 degree weather and has kept my dry during winters when I’m wearing warm clothing and enter furnace when ppls heater is blasting smh

I love that videos, but it is funny when I think in using the colours you show for summer in my place ( South Spain) feels so weird... because for me looks like autumm colours hehehe I´m not critizizing... just to me is funny. I think for Denmark they are great colours, so in my mind fit perfectly in Signe´s place. Anyway great video!

Signe I need you help asap! I just stained a new cobalt cotton dress which I am obsessed with 😩 I noticed that when it dried after the wash. How would you handle those faded white stains?! Love everything about your outfit, always!
@UseLess_dk2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rebecca! Oh so sorry to hear that! I’m not sure what to do exactly, it depends on what the stains come from and also what material the dress is. If it’s a natural material I’d try saving it with at home fabric dye! That might be able to cover the stains. Otherwise (if you’re into the look) try looking up some inspiration for visible mending, or alternatively you could turn the dress into something else either yourself or with the help of a professional. So sad when stuff like this happens, but it’s inevitable ☹️ hope you will be able to save your dress! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday ❤️ Signe xx

Maybe it’s because I’m petite and short-waisted, I don’t like the pocket placement on the Power of my People shirts, they’re very low. The pocket is only a few inches above my waistline, very odd-looking. Traditionally, pockets on women’s shirts should be centered on the breast(s), and I find that this looks best on me.
@bellebb86732 жыл бұрын
Im also petite and short-waisted, and in addition somewhat busty. Now I only buy shirts with no pockets. The pocket really doesnt do me any favors.
