My personal opinion as an American who is living in Hungary for the last 12 Years. You may disagree with my comment. Which is okay. I would have like to have seen Ambassador Pressman look for more solutions helping American Citizens who live here. For example the outrageous change in the Bank laws here. Where Checks from the United States Treasury can no longer be deposited into our bank accounts. Yes a check from the United States Government. Since 2018 this has been the case. I for example could not deposit my stimulus checks from America into my bank account here. I had to send them back. I can’t use my Federal benefits that I earned as a veteran who served our country for this reason. I used to be able to get a bank loan. I no longer can because my disability benefits each month for some unknown reason the bank won’t recognize it as income. But strange that the immigration office does. It sets a wrong standard to sanction someone because of corruption, when in our own very Government there is a lot of corruption. Just look at how many people suddenly got rich when they were elected into our government. The timing is also not good. Why now when he has 11 or 12 days left? This is something only the Hungarian people can fix. He should have focused more on protecting our citizens who live here. He just made it more difficult for the person who replaces him. Building bridges is a very good comment someone wrote here. Hungary is an amazing country. We need to maybe learn to speak to each other at the same level. If not we all lose. Just my opinion.

You're almost right, I live here since 2008 as a retired person, I still have my bank open in US, completely free, to deposit my stimulus check took me a second thru my mobile app, they sending me my debit card before expiration for FREE. The only reason you can’t get a loan in Hungary because nobody can touch your disability money if you default on your loan. After Ukraine this country is the most corrupt country in Europe, I know US has lots of corruption, but US also is the most powerful country in the world, they can do whatever they want, /not that I agree with/but don't forget something: Henry Kissinger - 'It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal.' I also have assets here which could be taken if I didn’t pay it back. For example my house which is worth way more than the loan. I also have a very good credit score here. Mondjam még??? Több mint 20 évig voltam munkaügyes - nem cégnél - nekem nem kell bemutatni a rendszert.. Bájos álnevén tolhatja mindenhol a popónyalást, ha ez önnek megéri, lelke rajta... Jó lenne, ha sok esetben azok is kommentelnének, akik nem csupán a mások által zombisított szöveget firkálják, hanem élik, tapasztalják a valóságot, csak sajnos sokan azonnal repülnének a munkahelyükről.. The broader perspective here is that the Hungarian government's policy and demands for power are dangerous. Orbán is cheating. He steals from the Hungarian people and does not govern democratically. And one of the most important members of the government is a common law criminal and is being punished for that.
