Hello, sir. Thank you for the video. At the end of your code explanation, you said that it is ok to set dS[eqn] to be 0. Because the equation above doesn't have any 'x' term. Were you saying phi term or something else? Can you elaborate on that? Thank you.

If you are not considering convection in your UDS, you do not really need to model the flow of water. Or maybe I understood something wrong
@oscaroscar9142 жыл бұрын
Ok, the flow of the scalar is not affected but the transport of the heat is affected by the water current

mention name of compiler needed to compile UDF

For a cylindrical problem this is not the best geometry. For that we have an axis symmetric model

You define the "diffusivity" of your new UDS in the window where the properties of water are defined!? And then you need to define the diffusivity again in your UDF!? I do not think so
@oscaroscar9142 жыл бұрын
How I understand this, what you did by introducing the diffusivity in the properties of water, was to say that the diffusivity in case you have water gradients (which now you will because of the presence of your UDS) is the same as the diffusivity of your UDS in water. Which makes sense. I think it is an important difference. This could be a workaround to define an anisotropic diffusivity in your fluid. You define a UDS. For some reason Fluent allows the definition of anysotropic diffusivities for UDSs but not for other species defined in the mixture. And they one can say that the diffusivity of the species in the mixture is the same as that of the UDSs. I may be wrong cause I do not understand how Fluent does not allow anisotropic diffusion of species directly without defining UDS.

That what I wrote was bullshit, because, when you introduce the diffusivity of your UDS in the characteristics of the material that constitutes the volume, you do that in an additional field. The diffusivity of the material itself remains there. I guess that the only way to introduce an anisotropic diffusivity for a species is to generate a UDF.
