What happened after her after was indeed not pretty. She was disowned from her parents and they took and ripped her birth certificate in front her face, burning all her records, clothes and any pictures of her in a pile before banishing her out of her lives for good, telling her that filed a restraining order against destroying what was left of her identity. She was last seen several decades later as homeless and walking around and around in circles on a beach one day apologizing to ghosts and having avid conversations with starfish and seashells wearing the same outfit she wore a long time.

Why is Ashton even having this conversation with Bridget? Just hang up! What’s the deal with this whole introduction thing? And the wedding being cancelled? They’re already married. I guess something got lost in translation. At least Bridget was charged for the assault. But, Ashton should have been honest with Bradly about her relationship with Bridget and declined to introduce them.

I think that in Japan, where most of these stories originate, getting married and having a wedding are two different events. In some European countries, also, the couple get married at a registry office first, then have a formal wedding at a church or someplace the next day. It's just a cultural thing.

No one is a HUSBAND or WIFE until you are married. Husband and wife are NOT announced until after they are married. The wedding wouldn't be called off after the marriage.

In some places you first register the wedding and then do the ceremony, the person who introduces the couple in some cultures has great power, such as a chef or a very respected member of the community where the ceremony is taking place. If the party is interrupted this can indeed be used as a basis to annul the wedding, in short the wedding has already been registered and they were doing the ceremony where they would be presented as an official couple by the groom's chef but everything went down the drain, this generated a terrible problem and resulted in the end of the wedding.

The wedding was cancelled because the grooms friend and boss was assaulted by the bride. In text world they just drop off the papers. In the real world they would go to the courthouse and have a civil ceremony. Lots of couples do that and have an official ceremony and reception after
