There are no happy endings with an abusive partner. Enduring the misery hoping the abuser will change is dangerous as the violence almost always escalates. The messaging here is irresponsible to anyone struggling with an abusive relationship. I would have much rather seen a realistic scenario of a woman successfully escaping an abusive partner.

Yes. As far as I have ever seen, only one thing changes level of abuse goes through the ceiling and only stops when the abused partner is dead. And, in my opinion, an abuser is like the proverbial leopard, he/she cannot, and I repeat, CANNOT change, especially after so long abusing and getting away with it. What irritates me most about this type of drama is the shocking stupidity of ML. Never mind that he allows to be manipulated by his ex and takes part in humiliating his wife, but when his ex tries to seduce him, he should immediately throw her out of the house. Sticking to the statement that "they are just ordinary friends" in such a situation proves that he either has bad intentions or is an idiot.
