The comments prove many may be ignorant of Chinese traditional culture. Don't be mad at this man. He is correct. If you are traditional, the blind date is the set up for marriage and traditional Chinese relationships do go fast...we want commitment sooner. The small town/village life portrayal is also accurate. Small town life is not for everyone but it is for some people. There's nothing "wrong" with this life. It's just not for Nini clearly.

Also, she looks really pretty to me, you know why? Because not everyone has the same tastes. I prefer introverts, and I am an introvert myself. If you like to smile it's fine, but you have no right to be saying to someone else that it's not pretty or attractive just for not being like you. Life is not only about dating and about who is more beautiful. I don't care; if I am sad I will have a sad face, which is normal. I like this character in the drama because her life is about learning from her mistakes, trying to find what she wants in life, finding herself, etc. Her love relationships didn't work, because she didn't find someone that she liked or someone that loved her (a lot of people liked her but not many loved her). And nothing of this has to do with her smile or sad face. Also, she smiles a lot of times as well. But she only does this when she is truly happy, like when she is whit her friends or having fun, etc. Asking her to have a permanent smile is not fair. (sorry for writing too much but I am bored and wanted to write some stuff, I know this commentt isn't even a recent one, just read and ignore it XD)
