sigh......only if they had succeeded... then Japan would not have expanded further in China, and the war between nationalist Chinese government and Japan would have been avoided. Japan and nationalist China could have worked together against soviet and red China.... and Japan wouldn't have to invade south east asia and eventually had to confront United States and their Allies. My great great uncle also didn't need to die fighting imperial Japanese army in Shanghai in 1937.... I love Asia so much as a nationalist Chinese, and we really should stop hating each other and work together for a great future! 北一輝萬歲!亞洲萬歲!七生報國萬歲!!

Didn't know the Japanese gvmt was so corrupted during early showa era. The modernization process of the Japanese government from the Meiji Restoration to the 226 Incident, and the hardships endured by the majority of the common people during this period, are thought-provoking. It's very sad lots of Asian countries nowadays are undergoing the same path.

The coup was defeated by the old army officers whose ambition was the conquest of the south (mainly the western colonies) which was more inevitable than the ambitious young officers' conquest of the north (Soviet Russia). With unfortunate consequences, the Navy assumed control of the government in later years under the direction of the oligarchs.

Love Manchuria, from Japan. Yayoi Japanese origin were from Manchuria. We Japanese apologized from what we did during World War 2. Musei Manju!
I am not talking about the Jomon people. I am talking about Yayoi people who originated in Manchuria. Additionally, modern Japanese people have more Yayoi genes than Jomon genes. Majority of the Jomon genes can be found in South of Japan like Okinawa.
