Yep, just seen the new BMW s1000, the M version £28000, utter madness, bikes are toys to most people and in most cases a car has to come first, I for one can't afford a toy costing £28000 so I'll stick to my 2004 Fazer 1000

@@Whatreally123 don't forget the torque though. This bike has the same power as mine but abother 30lb-ft of torque. That's what burns off the Porsches and Ferraris at the lights, torque and light weight, as long as the back tyre bites.

You could go on about the cost but it’s all relative, I remember lusting after a Yam FZR 1000 exup costing 10.5k back in the early 90’s which was effectively a third of the price of a house so…. I think in comparison these are cheap compared to house prices….

Very nice and balanced review Kate with focus on the right issues. I have 2022 Speed Twin and already exchanged front and rear suspensions with Nitrons black, and nice exhaust and filters. Love the bike and double dials. Love it on the track. Only thing I miss is cruise control to rest my hand on longer rides. Just a sweet bike! Thanks 🙏

Reference the complaints about its hp , been riding bikes 53 years and you never need it , done track days at brands , 140 mph , and still didn’t use it all , mid range torque is what matters nowadays not hp . Nice bike , don’t mind the clock as I’ve got it on my sport 660 + you’ll get use to it ( it’s not all about looks ) more about everything one place not split between 2 . Great video like the scenery just like the iow 😂😂😊👍👍

Where and when can we use all this ever increasing HP now adays, without risking getting a pretty Photo taken, and/or your License confiscated. I don't think it's us demanding these numbers, but rather it being a case of the manufacturers keeping up with the Jones's

The main issue with the off centre dash [why Triumph?] is that it is a parts bin job from the 660 Trident. The top part [rev counter] is not TFT but LCD. It's a budget dash on a bike costing 14.5 grand. This grates with a lot of people and so it should. Why did they not fit the full TFT dash from the 1200 Speed Triple instead? Simple. But no ,they have cut the cost and fitted a cheap unit. That is so wrong. And for that amount of money cruise control should come as standard. Triumph have to be careful with their pricing because there are some fantastic options [and cheaper] in this sector. You have the lovely Kawasaki Z900 RS se which is cheaper and the Yam XSR 900 [both versions] with that superb triple engine. The BMW R9 12T is a very nice bike but is over priced as well. With the cost of living crisis biting hard sales of larger capacity bikes is not good at the moment. In all honesty for a modern retro like this I would buy this years model [24] with the lovely twin dials and you get Brembo brakes and spend some of the saved money on a pair of decent rear shocks that suit your weight and riding style and you'll still be quids in.

I’m sure plenty of people will say this, but the new digital speedometer is fairly awful for the cost of the bike. Twin analogue looks far more premium.

Just my twopenn'th, but I don't like gold forks and shock reservoirs either. Unless there's gold elsewhere on the bike for it to tone with, it just screams "LOOK AT ME EVERYBODY! I'VE JUST SPENT A TON OF MONEY ON MY SUSPENSION" to be honest. It's like wearing clothes with massive designer labels as a substitute for having any actual dress sense. I prefer my bike to look put-together, not "bitty", and the suspension quality is a matter between me and the bike, not me and the onlooker. Good revue and lovely photography as ever, Kate. This is one channel where you can't complain about it being all press-launches-in-exotic-locations, because you balance it with down-to-earth riding on British roads in all weathers. Never stop doing that, even if it does get a bit cold and miserable sometimes.

Great vid, Kate. Nice looking bike, but what happened to Triumph offering real value compared to it's competitors - £14k!? A BMW R12 9T starts at the same price and is only about £1k more expensive with the comfort pack (QS, Cruise etc.). The Indian FTR 1200 starts at over £1k less than the Triumph. I just don't think Triumphs offer value for money anymore, and costs have gradually crept up in recent years, whilst manufacturing has moved overseas. On the subject of tyres, my Ducati Monster has M9 RR Racetec as I preferred them to the Pirelli Rosso Corsa (stock tyre) which whilst being good tyres, didn't last. The Metzelers offer similar grip but last longer in my experience.

The intentional dents in the front of the tank to clear the forks are a neat detail. Remember how I criticised the odd gap between the BMW NineT’s tank and headstock? This is much, much better. Design wise Triumph is really on a roll.

If you buy these shocks it'll cost you $3,600 USD. $2,200 for the front and $1,400 for the rear. And that doesn't cover install unless you can do it yourself which most of us can't. That's a pretty solid upgrade for $2k alone.

The bike is ok. Underpowered as usual, for 2K more should have ohlins forks. Has Triumph told reviewers not to mention the dents at the front of the tank because they are not mentioned in any video I've watched so far. They look terrible. The tank, price and lack of power puts me off buying this bike not the clocks. Great video Kate.

the QS option and extra rev range look like they're definitely improvements over my "original" 2019 one ( okay not "1936 original" , even I and my bike aren't that old ! ). I don't like the Trident clock , on a £14K bike ! Give me my twin clocks any day . Suspension, well I don't guess I'm much of a rider , maybe my 2019 one probably could be improved, but I'm not that bothered , it seems fine to me ! ( as I said, I'm not a demanding rider ! ) and I wonder if they've fixed the kick stand . Every time I use it, I just wish for 3/8 inch ( 9 mm ) extra length on the lug to get the end of my boot on ! It's only 9mm of metal ! ( yes , they'd have to change the moulds ... )

Hello ✨ I think cruise control has to be standard . An option colour on the headligt and dash to black it out and get rid of that grey paint . The tank stripes looks like crap ! They don’t line up to the lines on the cylinders . I think Triumph need a new paint crew overall there bikes models . Its to many colours on this model at the same time !!

Like most people, I don't like the clock or the tank-Triumph should've called it the Trident 1200! One benefit though, Triumph dropped the price of the 2024 Speed Twin 1200 by £2000, so I quickly went out and bought a new Stealth Edition in Sapphire Red, and I also managed to get some new Thruxton Öhlins shocks, so I'm happy as Larry, cracking bike!

What gets me is with all the modern materials like such high strength steels as maraging inox, & of course Ti 64, carbon fibre & AE81 Magnesium, plus with computer design, computerised milling & 3d printing, wtf are these Bonnies so much heavier than even the the 8 valve TSS from like 45 years ago? AFAIC no bike should weigh over 200kilos wet. Gez even the original Honda Gold Wind was like about 270kg, they are probably more than double that today.

Kate I love you're channel,but let's be honest the bike that resourected Triumph was the Bonneville,I have a 2008 T100 yes twin clocks as they should have air/oil cooled,I've had 110 mph out of the bike,road it in all conditions no computer no rider aids,why would you spend 14 grand on this bike, doesn't make sense,no wonder dealerships are going under,my bike I wouldn't swap it for one,and I paid 3,500 pounds for it low milage

Great review. The roads look fantastic. Its been said a million times already but the single offset clock looks terrible. Yep I get it- it has way more functions than analog but its a total miss by Triumph. If riders want super stripped down sporty they go for another model. The Speed Twin is supposed to be a retro with a modern twist.....Now it just looks like the 400 with an insane price tag.

£14,495 really. You don’t even get top of the range Brembos. I wonder how many gearboxes that shifter/blipper is going to reduce to pieces.The offset dash and modernisation of certain cycle parts have left the bike confused as to what it is supposed to be.

I own a 21 plate gen 2 and yes I do love the look of the twin clocks but have to say they are not angled very well and not the easiest clocks read at speed, the new dash definitely is an improvement the information it gives you, can’t wait to place an order fo the new RS

The bikes look great , although the dash has more functionality now but it suits on a Trident only , not on a Speed Twin !! For a Twin the dash has to be a better & a bolder one , a premium lookin one & it must justify the character of a Speed Twin !!

My friend just upgraded from his street twin 900 to a mk1 speed twin 1200. The earlier euro 4 version which sounds incredible. It’s like new. And even with a full Nitron upgrade it would cost half of this. And that is incredible value.

Hi, It's a nice bike.............but I have got a 2019 Kawasaki Z900RS, it's got more HP, it's got a slightly bigger fuel tank (17L), it's got 2 more cylinders & it's a smidgen lighter @ 215kg, it hasn't got a quick shifter or blipper, it also has a nicer dash & it was £4000 cheaper!, don't get me wrong though, it is nice looking bike.

Kate, I know I'll prob get slated but why have a blipper n a quick shifter. I must admit, never tried either. I'm a road rider. I want to change up when the bike arrives at the end of a gear and the speed I do that depends on so many things. I don't need to blip up the gears to cover a straightaway, I want more linear acceleration on the road and controlled downshifting to use engine breaking appropriately for my approach 🤔 😮 OI ... who u callin a donkey 😕😆

Hey @1050cc - Garrett is correct. A quickshifter simply allows you to shift up a gear without using your clutch lever, and a blipper, to go down a gear without using a clutch lever. You are fully in control as to when you change gear :)

Great review but i stay away from this bike its to expensive both versions. I also stay away from BMW, Ducati, Harley, Indian etc etc for the same reason. The prices is skyrocking but at the same time many manufactures just want to stay in that premium segment. Sorry but i just turn my back on theese bikes.
