Yep 100%. As a golfer, your round usually balances out. Rory missed two 3 footers coming down the stretch. But he also jarred like 3-5 20-35 footers as well. You make some you usually miss. You miss some you usually would make. The difference in this tournament was Bryson's short game. He made some insane up and downs today. It was a very entertaining final round today.

Also the bad break on the par 5 hole #4. Rory hits a beautiful 2nd shot that gets to within 20-30 ft of the hole. Then slowly trickles down the slope off the green (missing the greenside bunker that was a manageable up-and-down) and ends up on a small sand divot in the wire grass. He went from possible eagle/guaranteed birdie to a bogey. That's the one I would remember

You are correct, I played 5 days a week for 25 years until physical ailments prevented me from playing and I used to casually watch golf on tv. But when Tiger came, it was exciting, ratings were way up, the game grew. Once Tiger was exposed as a serial cheater and a crappy husband I lost interest. It was a collection of vanilla guys who bored the shit out of me. Then along comes this dude, who bombs it 380 yards and hits 220 yard 8 irons, I started watching again. Bryson is good for the game because he brings a likeable character to root for. I don't watch my LIV golf, but I don't blame anyone for securing their financial future.

@@duffy2311 Yes, that's one way to look at it. However, another way is that this guy is an extremely high-profile sportsman, who, in many ways is a representative - representing a nation (Irish members of our family are ashamed), representing Europe (you could her the crowds chanting "Go USA" or "Go Europe", he is a self-appointed spokesman for the PGA and has many young (and not so young) golfers who look up to him. This sort of behaviour puts winning/losing above sportsmanship and common decency, for many of us. Just another opinion (and for the woke mob, it's not "hate", just a different opinion...). @@deldridg agreed what you're saying definitely doesn't fall under the "hate" bracket. The "hate" bracket is those showing delight at what has happened to Rory, you couldnt wish that on your worst enemy. What you've said are very valid points. But with all that being said he's still human. It's so crushing what happened, like beyond crushing. And yes it is only sport at the end of the day. But still, in his shoes all he probably wanted to do was ball his eyes out yet the entire world expects him to head out into the crowd and put on a smile and congratulate. I get where you're coming from, and in normal losing circumstances I'd be in full agreement with you, but (as you mentioned matter of opinion 😁) this is not normal circumstance. They're putting this up there with the greatest meltdowns in golf. I just think it's a lot easier said than done to do the "right" thing in this situation 😕.

@paulmcgeechan8503 what a miserable outlook you have on one of the most epic Major finishes of all time. The likes of you is what's wrong with the game. Miserable muppets everywhere full of hate. No player deserves to lose in that manner. Well played Bryson, epic winner. But to wish that on Rory no matter how you feel towards him just shows absolutely no class on your end fella.

The guy is a PRO golfer and you guys are defending him like he's in high school. Yes I'm sure it was heartbreaking to lose like that but show some sportsmanship and congratulate the guy that won instead of running off and pouting like a baby. I'm sure it was the same for bryson when he lost by one shot in the pga, yet he still congratulated Shauffle and did interviews.People show their true character in losses more than wins so ya Rory is a cry baby 👶 imo.

@@mikeoxhertz526 Hi, thank you for replying - Bryson has become such a gentleman - he always was I think but now he acts it ALL the time. I absolutely agree about Mcllroy - he ran away in a sulk, not a classy moment at all, one he should forever be ashamed of. As you say, a handshake was what a true sportsman should have readily given. I hope others were kind to Bryson, for example he made a point of waiting to shake Koepka's hand when he won the PGA last year, I hope Koepka did the same (albeit off camera) on Sunday.

The fact Rory would rather win the US Open rather than complete the historic career Grand Slam at Augusta National tells me that winning The Masters isn't important to him as Rory favors the Claret Jug over the Green Jacket. Rory should be banned from playing Augusta National for disrespecting its members as Rory shouldn't favor one major over another.

Rory being heartbroken proves he prefers the US Open and the Claret Jug over The Masters and the Green Jacket and given the choice Rory would rather win a 2nd US Open than to complete the career Grand Slam at Augusta National.

The put on 18 was not easy, downhill right slider with a lot of speed. The issue was he should have never left it above the hole. On 16 he yipped it. Coincidently Bryson had a bad lag on 15 and yipped the par putt. People need to watch the whole 6 hours, Bryson made some great saves and he just missed birdies on 16 and 17.

In the celebration, Bryson handed him the trophy! It was pure golf delight! The PGA Tour needs DeChambeau back!*

The PGA tour needs to get its act together then. Useless organisation. Awful coverage littered with adverts even though we are literally paying already to watch. Boring golfers, draconian rules stuck in the 90s that don’t allow the golfers to be like Bryson. LIV is a huge reason why Bryson is the way he is now and the PGA fanboys need to show some humililty. All they’ve got at the moment is an off colour felon who really struggled with this course.

Apart from being a better look if he had, I wanted to hear his take on what happened! Hopefully when he simmers down a bit from his obvious disappointment, he may provide an interview.
