I was very surprised Minjee wasn’t at least contending down the stretch, but man she was all over the place off the tee. That can get tiring hacking your ball out of that rough all the time. I’m sure she’ll be back

Why is there such a disproportionate number of players coming from only three countries in the US Open ? Out of 150 participants, 50 are from the US, 20 from Japan and 18 from Korea. Together they make up more than half of the players. Worst still, only 15 out of 50 Americans make the cut.

Mother Philippines, father Japanese. Had dual citizen till 21 then had to decide by Japanese law or Filipino or Japanese nationality. She choose for the Japanese one.
