The USGA is a nonprofit organization that celebrates, serves and advances the game of golf. Founded in 1894, we conduct many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. With The R&A, we govern the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, handicapping and amateur status rules. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where we honor the game by curating the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts. To learn more, visit www.usga.org.

Look at Super Mex donning the Sunday Red and Black. Power colors he called it. Man, could he pure it. If I need one in the fairway to save the family I'm calling Lee Buck Trevino!

My two favorite golfers, Trevino when I was a youngster, and Tiger in my adulthood, both wore red and black.

US Open is not a PGA Tour Event

@@garyfarris4251 it is a USGA event, but it absolutely counts as win on the PGA Tour. Do you think Lee Trevino's first PGA Tour win was the 1968 Hawaiian Open and that he has 23 PGA Tour wins instead of 29?

18 green was so far back from the hill compared to today, I caddie here and its great to see the course as it was in 69.

Even more impressive that Trevino held it together while waiting to hit so many shots over the last six holes. Nicklaus' speed of play, or lack thereof, is legendary and Trevino having to wait and wait couldn't have been easy. Not saying Jack did anything wrong, his focus on every shot led to a legendary career but, wow, really puts opponents who play at a fast tempo at a big disadvantage.

Lee is one of the great characters in the history of golf, but he's also more than that. If he was on, he could clean the clock of the world's best. And he's STILL teaching people.

Yeah …very interesting…he was quirky then and not considered long…but man could he play….as naturally gifted and talented with his own very unique individual swing…the John McEnroe of the golf pro world for sure….without the shouting…one of my favorite players of all time.

Jack darn near drove it to the camera crane on 18, lol, they probably hadn't seen too many balls out there, took work for them to find his drive.
