Rules are rules. One grain or a handful, what's the difference? She's no Patrick Reed, but it was a violation.

Im looking for the US Woman's Open of 2004 at the Orchards G.C. in South Hadley, MA. I live in western Mass and attended this and have played at the course. Wish there were more US Woman's Opens in the Northeast. Or more LPGA events here.

I think two things need to be changed with this rule. 1) Grounding the club should be when your entire club rests on the sand, because touching a grain does nothing for you. It doesn’t let your arms rest or give any advantage to the shot. It is just a rule for the sake of having a rule. 2) Since they told Anna after her shot they should have told Lang after her shot. Real time isn’t “Fair Time” in this scenario.

Paul Azinger was disgusted about the referee ran to Lang saying Anna got 2troke penalty so you don't have to hit to close to the hole - of course they cut that part - Paul said This is Just Unjustice !! _ of course they cut that part off too - not to mention of putting a clock on the Major Last Group - 3 Korean players - usga......just getting more and more desperate they even set up the course no rough fairway after Every time Korean players won the US Open, so tee shut miss is not a Auto 1 stroke

Okay they should not be able to call a penalty when it can only be seen by slow motion camera. I know it 3 years late but it's so stupid. USGA does the unthinkable again.

That’s a funny steamy you just said clearly wanted an American champion when the suite cheated and got cut no matter what happened the sequence of telling him the American would’ve won either way two strokes hard to pick up over a half a whole

Maybe after each day of the tournament there should be a team of people reviewing all of the shots by every player to see if they can assess penalties after the day is over. Insert yourselves into the competition as if you are one of the players. Just shut up and don't rat on players over a grain of sand. This reminds me of the Dustin Johnson controversy where it was alleged that his putter moved the ball when Lee Westwood who was there said he did not move it. Even on replay and in slow motion you could not see his club touch the ball. Rules officials should be just that and should not INSERT themselves into the game. Although I suspect there were probably political motivations behind that, and maybe here as well?

This is crappola. Talk about destroying the game, the competition. Neither player knew there was a penalty, who gives a damn. Too bad the other player didn't hit her ball a couple times to make up the difference so there could be a competition.
