Thank you for demonstrating the microphone functionality, the only video on KZbin that does so thoroughly! Great playing and great singing. I really think I'm gonna purchase an fp90x in the new year. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

great video Chang! I assume that you can record singing and playing then at the same time directly in the Fp90x?
@JoeLinux20003 жыл бұрын
I appreciate you demonstrating the the microphone functions. I guess you are recording from your computer, not any direct line outs from the Roland. I think the FP-90x is a great piano. I considered it, but my Yamaha DGX-670 arrives today with the furniture style stand and three pedal unit, at approximately 1/2 the cost of the FP-90x with no stand or auxiliary pedals. Both keyboards weigh about the same. I'm sure the 90x acoustic piano sounds are probably more authentic with a more realistic feeling action; but the Yamaha may be good enough, and additionally has a lot of auto chording accompaniments with simplified fingering. Would you be willing to demonstrate any auto accompaniment features the fp-90x might have?

Ohhh how exciting for you!! Guess you should already have the Yamaha DGX-670 by now!!! And yes, you're right. I'm recording from my external USB mic plugged into my mobile phone ... meaning all sounds you hear are closer to what you'd be hearing coming through the piano speakers if you were playing the Roland FP-90x. The thing about the FP-90x is that the piano slab itself does not have any auto accompaniment features although i could probably access them through a separate app. Problem is, I need my phone to record my videos so accessing the app is a problem .... for now, at least 🤣 Have fun with the DGX-670!! You can surely get crazy creative with all the arranger features it has.

Thank you Chang, yes I think so also, until every Roland instrument I've bought ( E 36 arranger and Jv 2080 expander) has been satisfied full for me and always well functioned.

Thanks for the video. So few reviewers go into any of this stuff. As I mentioned elsewhere: why no (dedicated) EQ controls for the mic?

Hi Cheng, can it be connect to an Audio Interface which have a condenser mic attached; and that set up instead?

Honestly I am not sure ... the closest resource which i can find which I hope will be somewhat helpful for you is this: forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/3108351/3/roland-fp-90x-owners-club.html Based on the thread I think the answer is probably a yes.

Hallo Chang, I'm going to buy an fp30x, that is undoubtedly less sophisticated than its big brother fp90x, but for me is very good and light. Besides I love its acoustic gran piano voice for the nuance, realism and keyboard with escapement that we cannot find in other similar digital pianos in this range of price! Roland has made great digital pianos with this fpx series that will be a success in all the world!!!! I'm sure

Hii Clueless Cheng! Thank you for the video, putting a mic into the piano results to be simpler than I imagined. And I'm considering to buy one for my FP90X. I have a doubt about your video: which mic have you bought for the piano? I'm looking for a mic with jack connection like yours but all the sets that I've found doesn't have that type of connection. It seems like exist a jack adaptor or something like that, but I would prefer to have the jack connection included in the mic cable rather than buying an adaptor. Could you recommend me any mics for this purpose? Thanks a lot! :D
@cluelesscheng75273 жыл бұрын
I suppose it would depend on the purpose for the mic. Mine is a very cheap $10 unidirectional dynamic mic that comes with a 6.35mm (or 1/4 inch) plug which I got just across the street where I live. If you're thinking of getting any of the Shure microphones, make sure you get the ones with a QTR cable (basically it has a 1/4 inch male plug at the end of the cable). Hope that helps, Eduardo.
@Zoco1013 жыл бұрын
Eduardo, you buy those 1/4" (6.5mm) leads many places. They will fit any dynamic microphone with a detachable XLR type cable. I don't know why they didn't put an XLR female connector on the piano. This 1/4" connection gives it a cheesy kareoke aspect (as though you would prefer a really cheap mic with a non-detachable cable) but it will work fine with better mics too. What worries me is not seeing any mention of a separate EQ control for the mic in this video. Whose omission? Cheng's or Roland's.
@cluelesscheng75273 жыл бұрын
@@Zoco101 thanks for your insight ... unfortunately we could only adjust the volume and the effects for the mic on the FP90X
