These videos could appear to some as mundane, but they are most certainly not, as Reaper has soooo many features and capabilities that it's hard to keep up with. I find that I need to go back to your videos from time to time for a reference, kind of like, "Hey, I remember something about Reaper being able to do such and such, but I don't remember how to do it. This vdeos are most helpful.

Thanx Kenny, Followed it step by step - It worked awesome. I had the Arturia Mini Lab 3, it worked fine. I upgraded to the Arturia KL Essential 88 and I lost sound. Had me stumped. All good now.

Just bought my first midi keyboard. Nektar Panorama T6. Using Reaper 7. The integration program and instructions from Nektar have 2 of the integration steps showing something slightly different from what the actual software shows on my laptop. Mine shows what's exactly on this video. I'll try these instructions I see here tomorrow. Thanks Kenny

Hi, I've just bought a behringer deepmind 6... is it the same process as this video to record midi in reaper? Obviously I want to use the deepmind sounds not just use it as a midi controller? If not, is there a video on how to set it up to record midi whilst using the internal sounds? Thank you

Thank you Kenny for all your tutorials! I started with Cakewalk in 2000 and moved to Tracktion in '06 then Reaper in '18.Unfortunately I have a problem arming my midi controller. System: HP Z640,Win 10,Reaper 7.25, Mackie Onyx 1640i mixer,TMK88 key Midi Controller via UNO USB Midi cable. Some of the screens in your lesson are not the same on my system but anyway all is good until 4:00, my USB UNO keyboard image does not show up. I've restarted,unplugged,turned off,started over, deleted tracks and started over but every time,same results. Thanks for any help and I hope it's not a boneheaded mistake on my part (we all know it is haha).

UPDATE: Turned system on just now and the light on my TMK88 controller was bright, whereas yesterday is was on but a lot dimmer. The picture of it still doesn't show up but using the virtual midi keyboard instead does and Viola', I got sound! Thanks again for all the FREE content!!

Amazing! Thanks Kenny! Have you done a video on Cycle Actions in Reaper? Specifically the statements section? I find that bit so confusing and its hard to find much info on cycle actions past just using the "step" commands which is easy enough to understand

Is there a way to write in midi notes with the keyboard rather than clicking them in? Not recording real time, but inside the midi take itself.

I can't find anywhere that shows how to setup and SEND MIDI commands to an external device. I want to control my Helix to change Snapshots using MIDI. I used to be able to do it from Ableton but can't find out how to since switching to Reaper.

I have a Native Instruments s88 MK2 midi controller. I am struggling to get this to work on a Mac. I can use the keyboard for note input but all the other features do not work. The Windows users have complete compatibility. I have tried various solutions offered with scripts placed in the Reaper user dir, but with no success. Does anyone have a solution?

The title should probably mention version 7.20, and not 7.2. The MIDI Devices tab was split into separate (MIDI Input Devices and MIDI Output Devices) tabs in 7.20.

@@Roy_1 Up to and including REAPER 7.19 there was only a single "MIDI Devices" tab in the preferences. In version 7.20 it was split into two separate tabs - "MIDI Inputs" and "MIDI Outputs". The REAPER version shown in this video is 7.20 (the latest at the moment), whereas the video title says "... in REAPER 7.2 or newer", but should probably be "... in REAPER 7.20 or newer".

@@allthesame500 Version number is NOT a fraction, even though it may look like one. The title was confusing to me, so it is very likely confusing to some others, and better be fixed. Not all musicians are mathematicians, after all.
