I just used my peak flow meter for the first time and all three times I did it the marker was just under 300 every time. I don’t know if that’s good or not.

The flow meter I use is a "Mini-Wright" Peak Flow Meter like the one the doctors use. I don't know about percentage, I set mine at zero then blow into it which always goes to between 310-320.

The nurse practitioner at my medical insurance company (military) said as soon as they get more peak flow meters in they’d send me one. That was two years ago. My pulmonologist at Providence said as soon as they get more peak flow meters in he’d give me one, and that was over a year ago. I saw him two weeks ago and he said they haven’t been able to get them on. I went on eBay and got a brand new meter for just over $12.00 brand new with free shipping. I hope you get yours soon.

So ur personal best should be taken before you take ur daily medication? But ur daily peak flow reading should be taken after u take them? Just for verification for OSCE type questions

Your personal best is determined by your unmedicated, underlying lung function. So yes, you should take the reading beforehand. Ideally, you should take readings before and after for daily monitoring, but after only is fine if you are using inhalers daily and don't have breakthrough symptoms necessitating rescue meds.

You should take your peak flow before you take your controller medications.

No, you shouldn't have an issue. Put the inhaler in the plastic bag with your toiletries. Even though it should be exempt as a medical device/medication, the amount of liquid in it wouldn't exceed the TSA rules anyway. You should be fine.
