Using a Stream Deck + with MS Flight Simulator 2020

In this video I walk you through the process of getting a Stream Deck + (Or any of the Stream Deck button boxes) to work with a game like MS Flight Simulator. This involves one additional piece of software, Axis and Ohs.
The steps:
1) Download the files from axisandohs
2) Extract the files
3) Install Axis and Ohs
4) Install the plugin (with Elgato StreamDeck software fully stopped)
5) Install the sample profile (after starting Elgato StreamDeck software)
Plus, how to quickly fix a bug in the sample I used.

Thanks for this great video. Two things I would like to mention: 1st: SD software doesn’t have to be closed while installing the plugin. 2nd: To install the plugin just double click on the plugin file and it will be installed at the right place. No need to rename it Rgds Chris

Thanks, this got me started. I loaded this page, and added additional pages for the MFD lower right large and small knobs to use with D->, FPL ETC BUTTONS. also added a page to change com and Nav radios by pushing the dial to change betweek Mhz Khz for each of the 4 radios. Use the button above to display the standby and active freq... and swap between the two.

I’ve been using the SD plus for a couple of months. I’ve made multiple profiles for my aircraft in MSFS and X Plane. It’s a great addition and I don’t want how to fly (especially online) without it. Thanks for the video.

I’m really new to this and have loaded a few profiles that have bits of what I want. I really want to create my own though but can’t find documentation for just this pluggin stuff. The axis and oohs manual covers so much complex stuff I don’t think I need but I really want to learn this. For example, the drop down lists with variables listed, what are they? There’s just a few letters and some time on the profile I’ve downloaded different ones are used on the same key. Are these variables for the whole box or just that button/dial. Thanks if you can offer any advice

Really useful, thank you. Is it possible to have multiple 'pages' on the stream deck? I'd like one for the common functions you've got here, but also be able to switch to a page where I can interact with the G1000 - so a button for FPL, ENT, CLR, PROC etc plus a rotary knob controlling the input dial.

Absolutely. You can have lots of pages on all of the streamdeck devices.

Been looking for some input between AAO and Spad.Next. Any experience in the two? Opinion?

Unfortunately I have only used AAO. I have no doubt both have diehard fans, and that both work properly, each with their own strengths and issues. When I was looking into it AAO seemed to be the most prevalent so I went with that. My unqualified take though would be that for the typical casual user either will do fine. It's when you get into building a sim cockpit, lots of physical controls and custom coded scripts and macros that one will shine for you above the other.

With the more complicated aircraft you would want to look for profiles over on flightsim.to as they will have custom scripts for the various planes to load into AAO, which is something I did not cover in this vid. I think I need to make a new video showing how that works because there is a step that's really easy to miss. But, those scripts and their button setups will save you tons of time. Also, they give the button box better access to the sim controls due to the AAO scripts they include.

What are you using for ai traffic?

I've been using the MSFS default for AI traffic and ATC, which sucks. There are add ons that improve things a bit, FS HUD and Beyond ATC. Or you can go to vatsim which is a challenge.
