This is a video of my swimming pool that i use as a koi pond the pool holds about 13,000litre of water so is a pretty good size for a tempory koi pond. I also set the pond up with an Oase drum filter which i like very much especially for this application.

Those lugs on the front of the filter are where you hang the controller from if you don't want it dangling loose. The two plasticky covers near the other inlets are for a compatible Oase Bitron(?) UV unit if you wanted to fit one. I've got the Helix moving bed gravity version of this filter - as you say, very simple to operate. The compact nature of the combined unit means you have to be thorough with the jet wash in order to get into the nooks and crannies but overall it was the single best investment I made in my pond set-up. Great vid as always mate, keep 'em coming :-)

I just buy bags of barley straw from the pet shop ans stuff it into lengths of tube netting, tie the ends off and hang it over the side of the pond. The green water clears very quickly and never seems to come back.

Finally someone actually leaving a temp pond to go green . Customers get so worried when I have the fish in storage and I don't use the uv because the green water helps keep it cooler in the super hot days and the fish safe from the sun . Always have to go through it with them . Lol . We install oase gear day in day out build quality second to none .

i think boxtriker is talking about chemicals being used in making these plastic poolponds. i've also read about the same stories. maybe some kind of coating on the pools or such.

The pools been set up a few weeks now and I recently visited Adam's and the fish all look fine and are feeding well. Don't see there being any issues regarding chemicals coming from the pools liner. As he said it's a temp measure . Next vid will be Adam sat in the pool on an inflatable donut lol

How long can you keep them in there? Planning on renovating my Koi Pond, and putting up a big pool in the garage. Do you think a similar size pool in combination with the Biotec ScreenMatic2 60000 would be enough for about 15 big koi and some smaller fish for a few weeks?

But don't you need to put some more aeration in the pond because the warm water cant hold so much air and the algea use also some of air. So better more aeration than less. Just my idea. Greetings jeroen

@AdamJulyan
@AdamJulyan 9 ай бұрын
I think so but ive never done that or seen it done. The probes will also be in a different place but im sure they can be moved but it also might be setup slightly different the controller as i do think there is two version if you go to buy a new controller you can select pump or gravity so you might need a new controller but i cant see why.

Hi Adam do you know what is the average cost of running a cloverleaf heater 1kw per month thanks in advance
@AdamJulyan
@AdamJulyan 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, it really depends on how hot you want to keep the water, how big the tank is and how well insulated it is but if it was on 24/7 which would keep a 1000gal insulated pond around 18DegC all winter your looking at £130 per month but for me with a well insulated pond it would be more like £30 per month. Basically it would cost you whatever you want it to cost just like your house heating if you wanted it to cost a fortune keep the house really hot if you don't want the cost turn it down but the max a 1kw heater would cost is £130 per month.

@@shaunlevesley9874 my recommendation if you want to maintain a high temp for growth such as 18DegC is get an ASHP so much more economical they aren't as cheap to buy but so much better on running costs

@AdamJulyan

It's really a temporary swimming pool so it's a temporary pond but I you mean you have nothing else because your other pond is still under construction then it can survive winter if you put a heater on it and insulate and cover it.
