In the case you need charger, I would return the Victron Phoenix inverter and exchange it for Victron Mutiplus II, which includes 35A charger and lots of additional features like ESS.
@geraldgrogan3 жыл бұрын
I had the very same idea. He could even sell his charge controller too if he went that route
3 жыл бұрын
@@geraldgrogan The Victron MPPT charger is good choose, it can remain in the system. The Multiplus is device which works both directions. It can charge, discharge at once. It also allows feeding the energy from grid in the case it is needed, but for this off-grid system not a case. The Multiplus is also capable of replacing the smart shunt as it measures the energy from and to battery. It communicates with Victron charger as well to take the solar charge into measure (using VE.smart network).

@seymourpro60973 жыл бұрын
Mains charging is occasionally necessary! With a suitable time switch you can use overnight cheap tariff electricity. More panels is the usual answer, south facing and at an appropriate angle to collect maximum sunlight. OR do as some big arrays do and move the panels to collect maximum sunlight by always facing the sun from say 10am to 4 pm (sun time) wherever you are.

A few months ago I bounced a boost MPPT charger off you. It was designed for a 12v panel and a 48v ebike pack. I found one, from China, and it works very welll for $40. I have a Sony cell 48v LFP. I might use the ebike MPPT to charge it, but it's 85 watts from one panel. I could go with more panels. There are so many boost DC-DC converters around. I must have a dozen, from 30 watts to hundreds. Hook that up to any old power supply and you get to 50+ volts. I tracked down Lishen and EVE. They each have 3% of the EV battery market in China. So real companies. Now I don't know what Basen is, whether they make anything. I don't know how they are tied to EVE. Seems like people are starting to believe in the 280AH cells, and the very disruptive pricing.
