Can these small Flap sanders be used for sanding and getting rid of friz from small miniature carvings in the size range of Christmas ornaments?

Yes just make them on a smaller scale with a smaller mandrill.

I love the SandoFlex but the refills are stupid expensive and don't last long at all. If you have a way to make your own refills you would be my hero.
