Annie Sloan developed her unique and versatile decorative paint, Chalk Paint®, in 1990. She wanted to create one paint that could achieve several different techniques and finishes - from creating a textured chippy look to achieving a smooth modern finish, or even creating a wash. It's a closely guarded secret, but there are real metals in there.

Hello look really nice , that copper color you are using , is it water base or oil one. I ask you because I thought over wax water base paint would not stay.. please let me know.

Hi there, the Gilding Waxes are oil based but our Chalk Paint would paint over the top of it.

You don't need to put anything over the gilding wax, just leave it overnight to dry.
