Using Bait Thread Will Save Money Buying Bait & Time Re-Baiting!
Using bait thread will help keep your bait on the hook longer. In the absence of predators the "little" fish to crabs will make short work of your bait. Using stretchable nylon bait thread will help to keep your baited leader viable for a possible strike longer. Also with the bait "secured" to the hook you can really lean into your casts without the fear of having the bait flying off. Expect to see a huge increase in your casting distance.

I just got some last month. I don't know how I've fished so many years without it. Increased hook ups with the thread for sure. It's awesome. I can cast a lot further too, especially when paired with a imp clip and a breakaway cannon.

I salt my bait, over night or longer, it firms it up so it doesn’t fall or pull off and still has scent

I do too. The thread turns invisible in the water. It'll help keep it on the hook when fish starts to nibble on it.

I use that for live crab. Bait thread is made of nylon & is invisible in the water. Some "picky" fish will see the floss & may shy away from it. But if you use floss on a live crab, i get hits all the time.

Tooth floss works for me too but this stuff stretches and is much cheaper
