As I've been working through my cardstock I've also been tackling the embellishments that cross my path along the way. Most of this ends up in what I call my die cut sticker binders. While not my idea (I originally came across it on RTS Scrapbooking) I have tweaked it to make it work for my process. I've had a few questions so here is how I store these items.
Items mentioned in video:

Very nice system. I like the smaller binder idea. The big ones can get pretty heavy and awkward to move around. Thanks.

I love how organized you are. I may convert my binders down to 1”. Looks nice on your shelf and seems to be so much more manageable. Washi looks amazing - how did you do the spines on the theme and collection binders?
@ACreativelyCraftedLife
@ACreativelyCraftedLife Жыл бұрын
I ran a strip of Scor tape down the spine and wrapped it over the edge. Then applied the washi in top of that. So far it’s been holding up.. but I definitely think it needs to extra adhesive to make it stick. I also thought of using packing tape over top but so far this is working so I haven’t tried it yet. ~Melanie

I starting doing a sticker binder yesterday using page protectors for my card stock stickers. Love how it looks! This morning I cannot get most of them off of page protector. Suggestions to prevent this? I have tried Janet’s wax paper method too & cannot get them off either.

You have super stickers! The only stickers I have had issues with are the really thin ones (not cardstock) and for those I leave them in the release paper they come with and attach the release paper to the page protectors. I’ve also had some chipboard stick and then peel when I pull them off but that can happen even with the release paper the manifacturers supply. The only other thing I can think of is that you need to make yours less sticky. You can try sticking to your clothes a couple of times to make less sticky… but that might get a little tiring if you have to do to all. I’ve also heard of people trying this paper instead of the page protectors. Oil Slick Store SLICK PAPER silicone release paper. www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwie25uL4qP6AhV5FdQBHUHdDSAYABAKGgJvYQ&ae=2&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESbOD2pYGyNoQGKjYPVNbQhQxXCxWQSNZ-XpHrBJ9g6Xa_8ZO9AnvByXvAPz6MQ2ig_B7aaNmOyXcOUvAFgPd3p2ZTCGdY5b-5J2ouQfsBb5-b5y_ErAS2LeVeDnTKu34GyMCj9FEpIelgKjAW1g&sig=AOD64_11RZ6Q99oIc-xBLAey6Pr2RuI1Fw&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwiJxo6L4qP6AhU_g2oFHSDtA3AQwg8oAHoECAUQFA&adurl=. I haven’t tried it myself but I’ve heard good things about it. Hope that helps. ~Melanie

It’s been a game changer for me. I use page protectors and have only had an issue with paper thin stickers but I’ve heard from others that they’ve had issue with stickers. I suggest you test try. Some people use wax paper glued to cardstock as a base (specifically Reynolds). If I think something will stick too well lol those things stickers I leave on the original backing and add some adhesive to the back of that and put in my book. Just wanted to give you a heads up because if some comments I received. ~Melanie

@@ACreativelyCraftedLife I had read them, too. I wasn’t swayed; I did not like the wax paper way for stickers, nor the composition books for die cuts; both too messy for me. I have bought 8.5X11 sticker release paper before, too, which was better. BUT, I want the color binder approach you use, where, for the most part, it’s all together (stickers, puffies, die cuts, enamels, chipboard, etc.). Just seems easier. I’m committing: buying 500 box of page protectors, 12 one inch binders, ream of 65# white cardstock. Whoot Whoot!

I love your binders. They are so nice and neat. I have to be a little anal about my storage. My ephemera is separated by theme. Flowers are together, person, place or thing is an other binder and words is another, food, holidays, animal and bugs, birthday, travel, outdoors, love and shapes. I just started one for journals. I am going to keep ephemera for journaling, but I can use it for cards also. I have separate categories for stickers, die cuts and chipboard. I only put my ephemera in binders, once the package is opened. My wood veneer is in bins separated by the same theme. I have a lot of binders. 🤣😂🤣. I know that I have to work this way because if I had to look for a bug in pages of other things, I would miss it while looking. If it is with like items, I have a better chance of finding what I need. Is there anyone else that micro organizes like me? Just curious. 😁

@@kathleens7898 do you mean you organize by theme then take that theme and organize by color, or are some things by theme and some are by color?
@kathleens7898

@@libertylost8286 The latter. For ALL my craft supplies (papers, embellishments, etc.) if they were purchased for a theme or remind me of a theme, I organize them by theme (winter, Christmas, Easter, wedding, school, etc.). Anything left over is organized by color.

What do you think of the Totally Tiffany scrap rack?
@ACreativelyCraftedLife
@ACreativelyCraftedLife Жыл бұрын
Long before Tiffany came out with her scrap rack you were able to buy pocket pages designed to primarily hold stickers. And I loved the idea of visually seeing but I just found the pockets to be a pain… hard to get in and out and so if I took something out and didn’t use it didn’t go back in. Now I gather the scrap rack pockets are probably better but I have that experience in my mind so I’m hesitant to go that route again. I love the stick it route even if it means I have to apply adhesive to the back of my diecuts (for some reason that doesn’t bother me). My other concerns with the scrap rack is how much surface space it takes … I have to vertical as much as possible because I’m a gotta alotta….I also find pockets to be challenging… finding the right size and yes I know she has different size pockets but if I’m transferring say an embellishment pack I want all the pieces to be visible and I don’t want to have to start 10 different pages to make it work. Does that make sense. Basically… I think the concept is fantastic but you need to know your organization style. Think about what you like/don’t like and what you are willing to do vs not. It’s going to be different for everyone. Hope that helps ~Melanie
