About 5 yrs ago I printed a couple of hands. Life happened and I got busy. This just kicked my butt and I feel like I have to start doing this again. I hope I can use Blender to start remixing the .STL files into something cool for kids. Thanks for the reminder.

I remember the design you created based on Deus Ex. Actually one of the things that I really hope we see one day is that people who need an artificial limb, will be able to acquire one that is on par with the ones I saw in Deus Ex... well.. those who actually need them and without relying on something like neuropozyne.

I'm excited about this new idea that reminds us of the purpose behind our 3d skill-building. It's a cool step forward and offers a more meaningful approach than just focusing on histories or games. With this new approach, we can create prosthetic limbs that are not only functional but also comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. This means that people who have lost limbs can have a better quality of life, and feel more confident and empowered in their daily activities.

Awesome. Looking forward to this tech getting even cheaper as it scales and as tech advances. Imagine being able to order some parts and print your own hand locally anywhere in the world… designing your own parts in 3D and being able to wear it… yeah, awesome.

I love the interview! I always wanted to learn hard surface modeling to make things like this and I was wondering if I need to be an expert on engineering? Like I can't think of how everything should be supposed to be connected, inner parts or shapes or aesthetics. I can watch other people's work and maybe try to mimic but I want everything to come from myself. Is there a path to follow? Theories that may help? Hope I make myself understand i'm not a native english speaker but I love the vid. Thank you! :)

Hello Laura! Thank you for the video, I was always wondering about how these bionic arms works. But I'm here to say that I'm also waiting for videos on your personal channel and hope that you will start making them. I am a beginner 3D artist who moved to Montreal not long ago and my career just started, so I'm very interested on your point of view on the industry! Thanks:)

Cheers Ernest! It would indeed be interesting to share more about the current state of the industry, or invite guests that can talk about that. I'll keep that in mind!

its really expensive. I dont understand what they are trying to solve. do they want everyone to have a working limb or they just producing a funky limbs with a expensive price tags. anyone will prefer having a limb over a fancy one. giving a tag this to help someone sounds wrong to me. having a limb> having a fancy limb

Just to avoid any confusion, when we were discussing this during the interview it was in reference to the world of Deus Ex, in which augmentations are so advanced that people choose to have their limbs amputated in order to have a bionic one. We're not suggesting in any way that people do that IRL.
