In a recent video I caught a Chinook Salmon on a superbait rigged using bobber stops. I had several requests to make a video showing how I use the bobber stops to rig my superbaits, spinish, and cutplugs.

These are reusable as well- if you’re up for a little work: take your old leader with the stop on it, tie an open overhand knot above the stop, run your new leader through the overhand knot, fold your leader away from the bobber stop and hold all three pieces while you close the knot, grab the old leader below the bobber stop, add spit or water, and pull the bobber stop over the knot, onto the new leader. There are videos of the process if that’s too much words. I use size small on 10 lb mono to rig Kokanee baits like hoochies and tiny spinners. I feel like less beads should equate to more action.

If using a smaller diameter leader, such as for Kokanee. Would the size small bobber stop work with 10lb-15lb leaders? Also, early in your video there was mention of you talking about why you feel using less beads is better. But that tip was left out, or edited out. Thanks Tyler. Love your tutorials.

Typically 2/0 on the top hook and 1/0 on the trailer.

that lure looks like a big version of the kokanee killer. I have had mixed luck with kk's, do you ever use them and how do they do for you?

Its really nothing like the Kokanee killer in terms of action and rigging. However, I do use flutter type spoons for Kokanee with great success all the time.

What brand of line do you use for leaders? Ive had trouble finding the silicone stops that fit over 40lb. I have resorted to tying my own out of Dacron, it works but it loosens slides after a while.
