Im planning of constructing a 14 marla house in b17 islamabad soon by the end of 2024 or in the beginning of 2025 inshaallah .im thinking of constructing an energy effecent house with a double layer outer wall in a frame structure with the outer layer with hallow block and the inner layer with ordinary block and the 4 inch cavity between the blocks with fiber glass meshes for maximum heat and sound insulation.im abit confused about the size of block to use.when im discussing it with some of friends and relative engineer's they have no idea as the haven't constructed such a structure before.if you have any suggestions please let me know it would be much helpful for me.thanks

Blocks are used all over the Middle East which has really hot and dry weather They have hollow spaces which provide excellent insulation.

Insulation is normally not used over here as the construction cost goes higher. Actually they are also shifting to dry wall in UAE

In middle East countries they only use Acc blocks not cement block.ACC blocks are both heat sound and water resistant and 10 times lighter than cement blocks.unfortunately ACC blocks are not available in pakistan.in some areas of pakistan they are selling fly Ash blocks as ACC blocks but ACC blocks are very different than fly Ash blocks.

One block of 6x8x12 size block is equal to three bricks. Blocks cost less in laying due to lesser consumption for mortar and plaster.
