I enjoyed your video! I agree that the information we work with is difficult to determine scientifically, but we do have historical or oral traditions passed down in culture. That is interesting to think about. Also I loved hearing the German words. It makes me want to study German.

This is such a great video! Proper research and vetting of sources is sooooo important!!

It really is and for some reason I feel like it's greatly neglected in our community...

Amazing video 🙌 Everything people read can be both subjective and objective depending on how they perceive what they read. As well, sometimes the reader needs to learn how to be a critical thinker (which I hope is still taught in school🤔)citing in a book is also a huge help. You can go to the source book to find and read the cited work and see the points that they deem important and then present to you to enhance what you are learning. Thank you for sharing

I’m actually so happy I came across this video. I have yet to find ANY book on witchy subjects that cite any reliable sources or even attempt to explain where their information comes from. Granted, I havent read many books on the subject yet, because its been so disappointing. For example, I read „heimische Hexenkunst“. And, apart from stating in the beginning that the concept of Heimat is diverse and many „cultures“ coexist and intermingle, nowhere it is cited why the spells in the book are considered „heimisch“. Like, why are they in this book? Where do they come from? I know that there is not going to be research or verified primary literature on everything. But come on? They can just state anything, no questions asked.

I was really disappointed by this myself. I think citing your resources is not a common practice because the Occult Community was not born out of the scientific one. And for generations the knowledge was passed down by teaching in person. Nowadays witchcraft has become so popular that we have an ever increasing community who publishes knowledge and increases misinformation...I think we need to rethink how we teach and share occult and witchy knowledge because the world surrounding it has changed so drastically in the last two decades.

I really enjoyed your video, I really appreciate how much you put into explaining each point deeply. As you talk about it, and then show about it is very nice. Many people learn in different ways, such as reading, writing, listening, or seeing. Combining these ways of learning in the ways you do makes it easy to learn from you. Thank you

Great video! Source material is so important. There's so much 3rd party information going around, and it's always better to ne clear and know for yourself, even when you tryst te 3rd party source.

I'm so sad that this is not a common practice in our occult and witchy world. I really hope we can change how we teach and share knowledge to fight against misinformation!

A very well-put assessment on the aspects of critical thought one might want to apply to their craft. Might I add that you also have quite a pleasant voice for this presentation🙂

Your video brought up another question for me: how can one believe in anything if one comes from a scientific background? I would appreciate it very much if you could make a video about this topic in the future. I personally can make contact to spirits and gods/goddesses, but I don't believe it / in them. And that results in a severe inner struggle 😢

I think that is a really good question! Being a scientist myself I struggled with that for years. I noted it down and will work on a video addressing the topic! Thank you for asking. Be assured you're not alone.

Such a good video! If you could make a video of the scientific theories you see used in magical writing and whether they've been disproven, it would be so helpful as well! Of course we should all check up on these things as we read as well.

I'm working on it! I can only work in a very specific area of science of course but in my field of expertise I'm planning a video already!
