Man, the bit around 8 minutes I couldn't pay attention to anything but the bass. Phenomenal tone and groove!!!

Great sounding group. Your bone and bass players are amazing (you too). I use AMT Q7 mini as well (sax). Never thought I could get away with piping its output straight into my Quintessence (also first in my chain). I use VocoLoco to manage the effects loop (and the impedance match to the board). More things to try! Nice vid!

I like the crazy idea of Silent brass + Chorus-Flanger- Wah- Fuzz-reverb chain or the Surf rock lead chain set up! OHHHHH Also Heavy metal!

Those can absolutely work! I'm not a fan of the Silent Brass, but that's just a personal opinion. If it works for you then go for it.

One of the best educational channels I've seen, for sure! Any chance you teach via zoom or Skype? I'd love to get a pedal effects lesson from you sometime. I don't have much of a setup yet, but that's half because I'm so dang green with electronics to begin with haha

what’s the best pedal to give a good 1 octave up sound on trumpet played through a microphone?

I don't think there's a pedal that gives an authentic 1 octave up sound out there. But, the one I use and think is the best for that would be the Pitchfork.

That’s a good question. I am a believer of using effects as a sparingly used compliment to the sound and need of the music. What would you want to accomplish with it? Start there.

What do you mean by “clean trumpet sound”?

A trumpet sound that is not altered by an effects pedal. In the pedal world, this is also known as the level of 'dry' vs. 'wet' (which would be the effect) and a balance of those two.

I still prefer to sound like a trumpet (which was pointed out in the video) and use effects to add when appropriate 🤔
