Thanks for your valuable information. The only thing I missed is the part that has to be done before Logic comes into play. The setup in the Audio-MIDI Setup in Mac OS. If you have a midi interface, you should configure all your synth/keyboard there. This has the advantage that the correct device name is then displayed in Logic and all other programmes. This step may not be necessary when connecting via USB. I am not sure about this point.

You're welcome! You're right, that's something I should cover in a follow up video. In my case, using USB, everything was plug and play so there was no need to do anything in Audio/Midi Setup. Cheers Georges

Thank you. Do you know if there is a way to map the program change to a MIDI controller? It would be great to be able to easily scroll through patches on my Virus and OB-6 Desktop without clicking into the Program and Bank dropdown. I tried several times to set this up but could not get it to work.

I guess Im lucky in that my keyboard is a controller, not a synth. But my iPad is a synth so my next trick is to figure out how to make that happen. I have Amplitude and Tonex for plugins but so far their use with my guitar and interface has eluded me.

I followed your instruction and tried to connect a electric piano with MIDI ports to my Logic Pro on Macbook. However, I don't see choices like 'Audio input 1+2' when I try to select audio input. There's only 'none' and 'surround'. I did see 'Audio Output 1+2' and I selected it. When I select the electric piano as midi destination and start recording on Logic Pro, I can see that the track is being recorded but when I play it, sound only comes out from the electric piano, not from my computer. How can I fix this? I've tried two types of MIDI cables (MIDI in-out and MIDI-USB) and things didn't change,
