Great review of FS's! I love your fix for the loom by suspending the thread behind the castle. On my Ashford Jack loom I do something similar, only I suspend the floaters in front of the castle, and instead of a string (a heddle, basically) holding up the floater, I made a bent wire on each side that hooks over the top of the castle and has a tall loop at the bottom for the floater to go through. I'm so enjoying all your videos!

Yes, using floating selvedges is a fairly simple thing to learn how to do. On the other hand, as a weaver who has far more lovely things to weave than time to weave them, I value great technique and fluidity in my weaving. Whether or not to use floating selvedges is an ongoing debate in the weaving community, but I find them to be less than ideal for many reasons.
