I purchased the Meinl hardwood foot rattle (model number FR1NT) after seeing this video. I couldn't find any videos of it to compare to the seeds, but I'd describe the sound as being a bit higher pitched with a fair amount of body to it. Initial impression is that it makes jamming by myself more fun. I'll have to see how it fits in a small acoustic group setting soon!

PLEASE NOTICE THIS! Hey! So I need help. I recently joined my schools worship band and they have a Cajon for me to play. The thing is, the middle is broken and they covered it in a resin type substance. I have no idea how to make it sound good and my school won’t buy a new one! I need a way to make it sound at least decent. (They also have no accessories)

Hi Felipe. I use the same mics as you (SM57 and Beta52A). I play a Meinl Artisan. Do you deaden or muffle your tapa? You get a nice full sound. A video on your room, audio and cajon setup would be great. Thank you!

More good ideas. I’ve tried a foot tambourine but it’s a bit too jangly to fit in. I agree with tony. If you use them then it has to be on the beat, which is not easy and needs practice which I don’t do enough of…
