If this channel has taught me anything, it's that fungi is a miracle

good video, they will have a link with information on how to make a homemade filter using mushrooms to decontaminate water contaminated by textile dyes or something similar.

Nice video. My question is - do the pollutants biomagnify up the food chain if remediated by fungi, or does the fungi completely neutralize them?

Great question! Most of the fungi that are used for mycoremediation contain enzymes that enable them to break down most toxins into their molecular components, so they are no longer toxic. If you're curious to learn how that works, we invite you to take a look at this resource here: asknature.org/strategy/the-fungi-that-clean-up-pollution/

Ya I've heard about this with oyster mushrooms. I'd like to learn more about this. I wanna bioremediate the property near the driveway where my cousin was a mechanic at.

Hello, is it fine if I use some of these clips for a science project?
@BiomimicryOrg Жыл бұрын
Hi! The information we put out on KZbin is free to use as clips for projects. Good luck with the project and let us know if we can be of any more help!

The issue is, how to spread it effectively. What if an organism could be bred or engineered to carry the spores far and wide? Something big and heavily armored that would be bio-programmed to be hostile to humans, smashing their settlements to ruins until they run themselves to exhaustion and drop dead, their carcasses becoming spore beds for the fungi to spread and cleanse the land...
