using GOOGLE MAPS to find AGGRESIVE FISH | landbased BFS fishing in the skinny creeks

Everywhere I fish, I tend to have a quick look on aerial maps to get a scope of the land. This area has been on my mind for the last few months in the hopes of fishing it in the spring and summer months! The research definetly paid off, hope you enjoy!

Great watch as usual...Just wondering what size leader you using on your finesse baitcaster outfit .I use 8lb-10lb ,would you go lower?

Thanks mate! Yea for the landbased stuff in tight country I run between 15-20lb.. with such tight structure I want to be able to pull the fish out as quick as possible without putting too much pressure on the lighter leader! The mainline punches well above its weight class, but i would definetly run lighter when I know the fish class is a bit smaller (e.g bream) or there’s more space to play them out and not get buried in the structure. When im in the kayak I generally go a bit lighter but landbased I go a bit heavier.. hope this helps!

Thanks mate! You just have to get out and give it a crack. A lot of the time I come home with nothing… this time of year I look for the brackish areas where you can barely see the creek on the map! Most creeks especially in SEQ will hold bass

Absolutely no need to worry about snake bites with those waders on. Our venomous snakes have fangs averaging 2 to 3 millimeters. In extreme cases some browns may have fangs up to 5mm. To get an invenomating bite while wearing waders... you would have to be the unluckiest person around.

Knowing my luck it’d happen! I’ve been looking into it and will most likely still wear the waders with the snake gators over the top. Dealt with browns and blacks in the past as long as your not stupid you should be sweet!
