Thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this. We don't have a wide variety of nibs or calligraphy inks where I am. I wouldn't dare to make my inks for my dip pens for fear of ruining them! I do love coloured ink and it's not available here. Gouache IS available and now I have a reason to buy them. May Allah bless you for your generosity. Keep sharing your knowledge.

The world of calligraphers needs those black feint lined notebooks..come on papermAkers. Get cracking and help us out..i certainly would buy some..nice video. I have had good experience with mica metLlic watercolour and water straight into the pen and good result for illuminated calligraphy..subtle but sparkly....

I'm pretty sure you've found it by now, since your comment is over a year old, but just in case check 'inkmethis' for those black notebooks.

Thanks for sharing these videos, they are so informative! I was wondering why you use distilled water instead of ordinary tap water, and where I'd be able to find distilled water to make my own gouache 'ink' :)

Very nice, very helpful and well done vid. I wonder if the bleedproof white is more opaque than the titanium white acrylic I'm watering down? I'm trying to find the most opaque white (opaque even when watered down a bit) because I want to create very fine, hair-like lines on black paper. I'm having some success, but the white tends to fade a few seconds after it's applied to the paper, so I'm guessing the paper is absorbing both the water and the pigment to a degree. It's quite a process to figure this out. :)

I found black paper in many places, once in a tiny drugstore that sold gelly pastel pens. It's not super hard to find if you look.

Hi this was beautiful! brilliant! but wouldn't the gouache dry up and become solid? i would like to keep it watery in a container.

I'm pretty sure you can rewet gouache although I'm not sure kuz I never used it before
@Inkerella8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The gouache can dry up if not stored properly, but if you close the lid tight enough, all you need to do is re-stir!

Is it fine if I use Purified Water rather than Distilled Water? And would white gouache be fine as substitute to the white ink? Thank you for your videooo ❤️
@Inkerella7 жыл бұрын
using any type of water is really fine. it's really as a precautionary measure because there are minerals in water that affect the ink

Does the acryla gouache dries up later after you add the water?
@Inkerella6 жыл бұрын
Hi Shirley! The gouache shouldn't dry up when you add water. It maybe dry later (usually if kept in storage for awhile) but can be revived with water depending on what else you put in it :)

is it necessary to use distilled water?

It's not absolutely necessary- BUT I use it as a precaution because non-distilled water may have minerals that affect the consistency of the ink.

Can i use paint instead
@crazyboonana6 жыл бұрын
Straight up paint will be too thick and heavy to use with a pen. It will not flow off easily nor evenly, nor will it flow the same way that ink does. If you try to use ink with a pen, you're likely to get a big blob on your paper instead of pretty writing.
@lark76556 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'll see if I can get my hands on some guache 😊
