Hit and run ambushes, flying well outside of expected doctrine, fast hit and run and using terrain. The way you use your airfields is also pretty similar to Soviet doctrine, in the Korean war.

Ive only just learned that TTAA is a thing with lore. This feels a lot like how in Ace Combat 7 multiplayer, there are four types of FFA players: 1) Honorbound, folded-ten-million-times furball denizens who basically only ever hard focus each other (your sponges, presumably) 2) Cackling, smelly space goblins lobbing BVR weapons towards #1 from somewhere in the stratosphere (you) 3) QAAM raptors / darkstar chuds, who mostly spend their time wiping cheetos from their joysticks and mildly annoying #2 type pilots (these clans) 4) Timmy. He likes the F-15 with the big laser. Bless his soul. (super sponge)

And 99.9% of players stay away from the EML because it's literally just hacks. Mig-21 MGP players are based and you do not want to see one because they will kill you. Same with the A-10 guy getting aerial kills with bombs.

The SAAM is an incredibly fun to use and shockingly effective Sp.W (its so fun to slap down someone who thought they scratched your missile but in reality you just intentionally let them out of the radar cone), it's *just* maneuverable enough to dodge any missile at least once with good timing (though reengaging weapons like upgraded MSL and QAAM present additional complication), and it's pretty much always the cheapest plane in the sky, which means you're always a less juicy target *and* you get a lot more points for any hits and kills you get.

Oddly enough, I have an encounter with a VPO guy in 10.0 before. I still remembering demoting that guy to a Yak-30D, then to a MiG-9, then demoting him again to props, in my F-8E. Maybe you can make you own squadron with subscribers so that we can fight those VPO and GUUD guys together, well unless you prefer to fight them solo.

The F-8E is a monster, and individual VPO or GUUD players are often just some guy with a fancy squadron tag when they solo-queue. The squadrons do genuinely have standards - if you see a VPO or GUUD player its a mark that they are at the very least a solid player - but the real power comes from the teamwork and coordination.

Those are real tactics -during Iran-Iraq war Iraq had more pilots with more flight hours as well as more planes which were soviet fighters, superior for dogfighting, Iraq was bound to win, and then suddenly Iraqis exploded in the sky for no reason. You see, Iran had Tomcats with superior US missiles and by hiding behind terrain or shooting from beyond the horizon they were sending missiles killing Iraqis that weren't even aware they were being attacked unless first missile missed - problem is, by using 2 or 3 planes Iraqis weren't even coming home to describe how they were attacked. At one point they outright refused to fly sorties thinking Allah cursed them...

Operation Bolo. That ambush put an end to that particular Thunderchief Turkey Shoot, and the NVAF changed tactics, but the US tactical disadvantage stemmed from the fact they were pushing into NVA territory and the advantage is with the defending party. Like the RFC in WW1 and LW in WW2, they were trying to overcome local air superiority outwith their ability to provide cover.

Well, only the US has aircraft in any numbers, and the newest ones have significant issues. Spamming F-16s would be the sensible strategy if you end up having to fend off Russia. Attacking Russia would however just give the antiaircraft battalions something to do. Pretty much why the Cold War never got hot. Neither side could feasibly win, and ‘winning’ means thermonuclear death anyway.

I do pretty much the same but at a much lower BR, using the fastest WW2-era planes available to boom and zoom before then hiding behind terrain to prepare for my next attack. Granted, this tactic doesn't work as well as yours with the generally slower planes and without any kind of guided missiles, but it's still fun and must be super frustrating for my enemies

What's funny to me about this is that this is the exact same thing I do in air realistic, and I've also described it as "Vietnam guerilla tactics." I select the MiG-17AS or MiG-21S, throw on a pair of R-3Ss, hug the ground, fly up behind someone who's not paying attention, shoot them with a missile, and then type "Penis blasted," in all chat for comedy. Except I'm typically hunting random schmucks who are alone/slow in a dogfight, so I'm more of a low-altitude bully than a low-altitude Robinhood like yourself. Awesome video! They removed maps, cant hear engines anymore, cant drive on hills, certain maps were made flat, can drive into spawn now, no more axis vs ally battles, non historic pen values, vehicles with missing crews, 50 cals can shoot with no gunner, 1944 tanks fighting pre war..... You could easily write a book about everything wrong with Warthunder.

former GUUD here. can confirm pretty much everything you said, and a bunch of stuff in the comments too. fun fact: they kicked me out because i didn't play top tier enough, because i liked to play props and bluewater fleet as well. also when they recruited me, they said "hey u fly good, want to join?" literally never mentioning that there's a whole slew of rules you have to agree to and abide by. they started kicking people out for not using voice comms, to ensure they always have communication with and from whomever they end up in match with. they actually ruined the game for me AFTER i joined them, not before. and only because i found out exactly how sweaty they actually are over a f2p game in fucking arcade battles. also GUUD is led by an iranian, so... do with that information what you will... P.S. the really active ones are honestly some of the most pathetic people i've ever met online, and that's saying a whole hell of a lot :)

You can if you know how the AB spotting system works. It's same as RB, so sometimes it doesn't register and it can be something as simple as a double fence. Manual rangefinding is pretty important in some of those situations though as you have no aim assist and often no way to rangefind with the in game cursor.

Huh, as someone that used to play Ace Combat 7 online this is actually very similar to how it worked there. There are DLC planes which are OP, clans that coordinate even in free 4 all battle royale matches and players with Macros, flight sticks and VR headsets. Not to mention the hackers and sweaties literally spinning in place with railguns that hit you instantly anywhere on the open. So the best way to mess with them is to pick the longest range SAAMs, super fast HVAAs and high capacity HCPAA. Then get far away into the height ceiling, look down and basically orbital strike them with saturation tactics. Or, alternatively, keep your afterburners constantly on, show up from the clouds and mountains, fire a volley out then instantly disappear out of their radar too. Fly erraticaly, be a nuisance and target their best players to break their formation. Eventually, they either pursue you en masse, opening themselves to others, or you cause enough damage to at least even the fight.
