Angles, my friend - angles. Arcade has nothing to do with it. If you fire a missile from behind, it chases down the enemy plane. If you fire a missile from the front, the plane and missile fly towards each other. Effective performance drastically improves as your angle gets further away from 6 o'clock, since the enemy plane basically helps shoot itself down. The worse the radar missile, the more drastic the effect is. So if you understand how to work angles and/or dodge bullets in head-ons, the R-3R becomes one hell of a skill cannon. I've managed to kill a few guys from 10KM away with them.

@@Aoeilaeiepaestill doesn’t deny the fact it has 10G and has bad energy but is better than all the other 10G missile for example R3S/9B, if you have altitude your missile will travel further, but can still easily dodge it or pop chaff, unless the energy work’s differently in arcade.

@no1harris_989 Oh, I'll just monkeyroll them then if theyre a tricky opponent. That move works in realistic, too. But you also need to think creativity about how to lead your missile. Remember, 10g overload goes in two directions, so you get 20g to work with. I sometimes underlead my missile a bit. It can turn hard enough to one side to hit the guy if he doesn't see it and continue in a straight line, but can also turn hard enough to the other side to hit him if he turns towards or away from it. You don't necessary aim at the target, you aim cut off his options. Early Radar missiles can be real skill cannons sometimes lol.

@no1harris_989 monkeyrolling is almost a guaranteed kill. Missiles don't turn well right after launch. So, you need to aim the missile - not your plane - at your opponent. Below 1 KM, which *wing* your missiles comes off of can be a huge factor. Not many people understand that, but if you do it goes from a crapshoot to a slam dunk. So you have to use tactics to angle yourself out of your opponent's gunfire, while being able to angle your missile into your opponent. As I said, bit of a skill cannon lol.

@@Hydra_Corinthian Most players set the wings to manual right after they spawn in, adjust them to 0 degrees swept, and then immediately switch them back to auto. If you switch from auto to manual, the wings move to your last manually set position. Setting them to auto works fine when you're going fast, but setting them to 0 degrees is best for dogfighting. So that actually makes it really easy to manage the wing sweep. You can press one button and move your wings to the perfect dogfighting position quickly - no fiddling, no BS. Other than that, you're crazy fast and have all-aspect missiles. Go nuts booming and zooming.
