Yes, it's used the same way grammatically. "I just finished eating lunch" - simple statement. "I've just finished eating lunch" - also a simple statement, but could imply that now you're going to do something else. "I had just finished eating lunch when the bell rang" - statement that tells the listener a sequence of events.
