Thank you for your clear and concise introduction to this regulator. It's good to have an option other than a linear spilling heat. On the last [datasheet] schematic, do you know why four of the IC's leads were made bold ?

That illustrates this are be short electrical connections. This thing has a 52kHz oscillator and leads must be kept short.

my circuit is putting out 3,somthing volts and goes down to 2,sonthing volts. is my regulator bad?

Try another regulator. Are sure it is wired correctly and did you use the same parts? Did you build it or was it on a simulator?

@@LewisLoflin I checked again and the wiring of inductor was faulty. After soldering it correctly it worked perfectly, thanks for the reply! :D
