macmost.com/e-... Perhaps the most useful third-party tool you can get for your Mac is a clipboard manager. These will let you go beyond the single copy and paste clipboard and recall items you previous copied.

The default clipboard manager in Windows is almost perfect. It saves not just text but images and formatting styles. This is one thing i truly miss in MacOS. Hope Apple would add such feature in the next update.

And you can also trust built-in clipboard manager, while third party apps can do with your clipboard content whatever they want. I can’t imagine giving access to everything I copy/paste to a software with no privacy guarantee. The same is true for so called password managers, btw.

I have to use a Windows machine for work, and one of the nice features is the clipboard manager built into the op sys. I hadn't thought about looking in the app store for something similar for my personal mac. Now I will. Thanks.

From my quick research I found Clipy is the best. Light and quick, very similar and in many ways better than the native clipboard manager in windows. It stores images and texts, copies automaticaly images from the mac screenshot tool and the shortcuts are customizable. Also, you don't have to reach for the menu bar. There's a shortcut that opens you clipboard history in a pop menu directly over your mouse pointer. Amazing!

@@renankabariti That's funny. I got a notification about a reply to a two-year old comment! That doesn't happen every day! Thanks for replying to my old comment! Two years later, I am still using good old reliable Clipy on Monterey. It still hasn't been updated, but it still works for some reason. I looked into the other, newer clipboard managers, and Clipy is still my favorite. It's basic and not flashy but does exactly what you need. The genius of your teaching method is that you are able (excelling really) to both present something without diversions, simply yet also stretch the mind of the learner a little. It's the sweet spot. I just learned from the school of hard knocks that my MacBook Air doesn't have a clipboard manager the same way my PC does. Well, at least I can search for an email backup, if I spend enough time at it. So, my question is: can a clipboard manager find clips retroactively? I mean, things that I cut *before* I installed the app? Oh, and isn't there a privacy concern with cloud-base services?

Forgot to thank you in a related video where you explain Paste and Match Style. OMG, genius here would copy, say, white text, then paste it (ofcourse couldn't see the damn text), drag the cursor to highlight it, bring up Fonts and select black for text. All the while Paste and Match was all that's needed. This underscores what you said at the beginning of this video: read and learn macOS' capabilities! This said, I bought iClip after the venerable PHPPasteboard was killed off suddenly. I want a manager which allows me to access clips from a slide-our drawer as my menubar Is getting a wee bit cluttered.

The one I use, Clipboard History from the Mac App Store... apps.apple.com/us/app/clipboard-history/id420939835?mt=12 ...allows the user to set "favorites" which can be accessed with keyboard shortcuts and will not be overwritten by new clips. All the clips remain, including through restarts, until the clip count maximum (set by the user) is reached; I have mine set to 51 and going over that limit does not delete my "favorite" clips, only the oldest un-favorited clip.

@@macmost The developer of CloudClip Manager, the Mac application, has an iOS version, CloudClip: apps.apple.com/us/app/cloudclip/id563356503 Of course, you have to use the CloudClip app to send and receive the data, as you said it can't intercept system processes the way a Mac app can do. But if you're already using CloudClip Manager on the Mac it might be worth a look. I use Clipboard History from the Mac App Store. It hasn't been updated in years but it works really well. I rarely need cloud syncing or the ability to move multiple clips over to an iOS device. The Universal Clipboard works well enough for me when I have that rare need: support.apple.com/en-us/HT209460

Maybe whoever programmed that line of words at Apple does not know the profound extent of its meaning. Also, no other apps in that control list are currently enabled -- none at all, yet the desktop has been fully functional for years. See the concern? All this could be a avoided by Apple to simply adding the feature. Yep, paranoid for sure.

@@AerialLensVideo This is very common for many apps. On mine, I have several listed there. A clipboard manager would need to control your computer to read the contents of the clipboard and to paste.
