Be very very careful if you use powdered milk in you brime. If your brime gets warm it will spoil and ruin your bait. I won't use it... my buddy was fishing next to me years ago using it and didn't get a single bite, my boat limited out. The brime got warm and the milk spoiled the brime. The following day without the powdered milk he caught just as many as me. If you do use the stuff keep your bait extremely cold in a cooler before using it...

Hello, Thanks for the info. I live by St. Louis, MO. We have an oily fish down here called a skipjack herring that lives in the Mississippi River. They're the preferred blue catfish bait. Do you have any info using skipjack in meat rigs?

I would think you could use the skipjack the same way we use herring or alewives

Thank you, Rich. I notice you mention retrieving a big fish on weighted line with an 11" flasher is really hard....in part because of the flasher drag. I've seen a number of KZbins featuring flasher releases....such as Good Day Fishing....but I've not seen a KZbin of Great Lakes folks using flasher releases. Do you have any information regarding using a flasher release? Thanks for the help! @@LakeMichiganAnglerTV
