Fun fact: I've actually tried some of these cheating tactics in a friendly magic game and they won me the game. I injogged one of my strongest cards to a know where it is, then put it in an inconspicuous spot where it was very likely to be cut by anyone there as I know their cutting patters.

18:30 My friends and I at camp are absolute jerks about cutting decks when we play magic (because we do trust each other not to be cheating). One of our favorite cuts is to take the top card, reveal it to the opponent, and then bottom it. All it really does is put you at an information disadvantage. I particularly remember one time where I normally cut, took a card from the middle, revealed to the opponent, then put it back in order, and my friend lost it and showed me that I had successfully bottomed the one copy he had of one of his deck's most powerful cards. I won the mental game.
@nieznajomyczowiek5742 жыл бұрын
18:18 yes, my sister always cuts by moving the top 1-3 cards to the bottom. It's weird but certainly makes this trick impossible :P

oh yeah, i do weird cuts all the time im bad at shuffling, and most of the time when im cutting I'm playing magic the gathering (and in mtg, all your cards go to you, so youre mainly trying to make sure your cards don't stay clumped together, because otherwise its super easy to get mana flooded or mana starved and just lose) so what id frequently do is cut my deck into multiple parts and then put them back in a random order, and then hand it to my friend for them to cut as well
@Solrex_the_Sun_King2 жыл бұрын
When I cut my rival's deck in a paper game of magic the gathering, the last thing I do is take the top 7 cards and put them on the bottom. They're probably not cheating, but if they were, those cards aren't there anymore. Even if they are controlling my cut. (You draw a hand of 7 cards)

@zavalanovakidue2 жыл бұрын
18:19 a cut usually happens by a random, but since there's an injog or, at some cases, a bent card, this random becomes not-so-random and the cut happens at the card you chose
@trans_rights_ftw2 жыл бұрын
He was wondering about intentionally weird cuts, such as a "cut" being only one card and the rest of the deck, or potentially doing several cuts.
@jadecrusher10662 жыл бұрын
I play lots of cards and I have seen plenty of cheats. One way we counter attempted forced cut (like bent cards) is simply by tapping instead. What I mean is choosing not to cut takes away any power they had. Now if they load the deck expecting us to tap, we can just cut. Another method is to intentionally cut at the last 1 or 2 cards and put only those on top. Screws up there count and still ensures a fair game.

18:18 Yes, generally when I cut, I do it about 4/5 of the way down the deck on purpose so the bottom becomes the top. I've also seen someone cut by taking everything but the bottom card, meaning if the deck were stacked, everything has now been offset by one count, meaning it's now stacked against the stacker.
