Ian, It was absolutely Fantastic to meet you at opensauce you're such a great guy and i'm so impressed with everything you've done with that hand, it's a real marvel to see in person!

I did the same thing for a Maker Faire earlier this year. People were surprised I was just giving them away - they thought they were super expensive.
@missingpartsclub7 ай бұрын
Time wise they are a little pricey, but actual cost wise, it's about $0.14/card.

It was an awesome event this year! It was so cool seeing everyone that returned from the year prior. I'll probably be attending with pcbway again although I would like to attend the creator party. So I have to figure that part out.

Clever to have positive stop controls. Might be marginally faster to use plywood backer thick enough for shallow card shaped recesses, along w/the finger hole for faster swap. I don't think the cards would move, tho the headrig motor reversal might shake the cards enough for an issue

Dang, I want one of those cards! I am a business card collector (not really), And this is one of the unique cards I am looking for.

Cool, but cut a couple sections out of the entire bed and make 3 or 4 of those sections so you can load those up while it's printing others, then just swap out the whole section. If you did it right, you could swap out one section while it's printing the other and vice versa.

Looks awesome Ian. I have tried a few of these with my xTool s1 and love the effect but haven’t figured out a way to ensure the rest of the paint doesn’t rub off after handing them out. Coming back to ERRF?
@missingpartsclub7 ай бұрын
I would like to, all depends on who I'm working with and if they have a booth there. Last year I was with creality.

@@missingpartsclub cool sir. Hope to see you again. Still want to talk to you about sponsorships. My life got derailed immediately after ERRF with parent care issues that are no longer taking up my attention. Will hopefully catch you there

What feeds and speeds did you end up using? You've inspired me to engrave a set of playing cards with this method, a jump start would be appreciated!

Metal playing cards would be sick! It would totally work! Hit me up on insta or discord and I'll get you that info.

I just bought a creality falcon2 pro to engrave aluminium plates for my customer. Some say it can't be done, others say it can provided the aluminium is anodized & lastly I'm told I can use a paint or ink that washes off. Please advise.

Definitely, I only made 50 or so of these cards. This is totally a work in progress, I just needed something to hand out that would link to my socials.

So I'm using the metal business cards you see on Amazon for like 500/$45. Using the 20 watt laser module I'm cutting both the image and line work at 12k mm/min at 14% power without warping or burning through the other side of the card. Hope this helps.

@ I just did some art 8000 and 25% in the Falcon 22w. Came out fine. The slower the better I think for detail.
