Someone find me a doc that'll amputate me real quick, I wanna be a cyborg! Just kidding, as a type 1 diabetic I'm plenty enough dependent on machines to keep me alive and well.

Slightly off topic but that reminds me.. Do smart watches have mounts for prosthetics? I understand with older watches it wasn't worth it but now they're much more standardized with third-party bands and what not. I don't really wear watches but if I had a prosthetic forearm that's the first thing I'm installing.

This project has come so insanely far man. My favorite part is just how "form follows function" it all is. we need people with this design philosophy working on all sorts of prosthetics

Have you considered a thing rubber piece where your palm would be? It would add a tremendous amount of grip just like a real palm would.

I love this idea as a project. Right to repair is a very important part for people who have prosthetics. I don't love living in America we are free to die of treatable medical issues or be denied quality of life for disabilities because it is more profitable for some insurance company... Another youtuber I watch had to GIVE THEIR PROSTHETIC BACK because their insurance decided to deny it for them AFTER they already got it...
@missingpartsclubКүн бұрын
Omg! I'm not sure that's even legal. It shouldn't be if it is.
@kid14346Күн бұрын
@missingpartsclub The channel is called champutee, and they talk about what it is like to play video games with only one arm. The prosthetic they gave back they didn't particularly like as they regularly complained about it but it still sucks that that can happen

Your parts are scaled to work off your socket. Are they scalable to adapt to a larger or smaller hand? Seems like that would also play into whether someone is a good fit for the trial. A smaller feminine hand would crowd the diminutive parts that need some size just to fit the screw heads, springs, etc
@EngineerMikeFКүн бұрын
Missing a hand? Make a hand. Genius. Obviously, self assembly would build the maintenance skill set.

Qidi X3 pro or X4 is the best printer for what you're doing. Insane engineering applications
@missingpartsclubКүн бұрын
I've tried a couple of qidi printers. I have been very happy with the qidi Q1pro, I can't say the same for the x max 3. If you noticed, you never saw a video about that printer on my channel. I couldn't get consistent results from my test unit, I'm not into telling anyone something is great if it isn't. if it's crap, I'll tell you it is.
