Using No Nonsense Exterior Frame Sealant

Screwfix No Nonsense frame sealant is a great product to use. Ensure you smooth it off with soapy water for a super smooth finish.

I used Nononsense exterior frame sealant on a window frame and smoothed off using finger and water method (just water, no soap added) and it did look neat. But a month on and it's attracted dust and grit particles, and on closer inspection the sealant has remained soft and tacky. I applied a test run to a piece of wood (using no water) and it cured nicely, drying with a smooth hard skin. So it would appear that using water adversely affects the sealants curing properties. Or does adding soap make a difference?

Funny thing , I was just reading on another site, soap is needed as water only prolongs curing

This stuff is no good in cold weather because it doesn’t set. It’s a water based caulk and not a silicon

Is it a dust and dirt magnet? I used the No Nonsense exterior caulk and it was filthy within the week!
