Hi Dan. Off is a confusing word in the English language because it can be used as an adjective, perposition, adverb, and verb. It has so many meanings some of which are slang. I sometimes don't know what to write ' of' or ' off' especially while using phresal verbs.

USE OF PREPOSITIONS AT some point you have TO realize that some people can stay IN heart but not IN your life The better you feel ABOUT yourself The less you need TO show OFF I made a huge TO do list today I just can't figure OUT who's going TO do it

I got on the train and I took off my jacket because the ambience was a bit hot. My house is just off the badminton court. He was off colour yesterday so he was off lecture. He was off balance when he was about to take the course. My mum was off duty because my little sister got headache so she had to look after her. On the off chance your bus arrives early, I will come to the terminal early too to meet you. I put off my intake at uni since I hadn't much money back then. He was starving, so he polished off food. I just knocked off writing the examples.

Hello Dan Could you explain something please? At the end of this video, you said that the phrasal verb Kick off meant to finish. That confuses me because I have learned that we can use kick off to start a work, a meeting, a ball game etc....in a nutshell, the strict opposite 🙃

All your videos are enjoyable and informative ,why don't you make after each video another shorter one to correct the the glaring mistakes of the comments,it will be useful for all of us and will encourage every one to comment.
@bbclearningenglish4 жыл бұрын
It's a nice idea. We do try and reply in the comments section - usually to answer any follow-up questions that people have, but also to try and help people with their English. We fear that if we started a video to correct mistakes, it might start an endless cycle of videos as we correct the mistakes in the comments of the mistake correction videos... 🤣
@mostafahisham29264 жыл бұрын
I understand your point, you realy do great effort to help us improving our Englisch, but my suggesion is not to correct every mistake, not the easy mistakes of the beginners, and sometimes we read the comments before your correction and then we move to another video. so it will be great If there is video which we can track to learn from the common mistakes. You can control the number of videos, you can make it weekly and choose the best sentences to correct, I imagine it will be great motivation .. Regards for all of you ,regards for Dan my favorite teacher👌
