Using Pepsi Bag-in-Box syrup with Sodastream

How much syrup is it reasonable to buy at one time? I see two available choices: 2.5 gallon BIB or Coke Freestyle refills. I don't know how they compare or how much soda they would make. Connectors same or different?

How can you enjoy it this way? Must taste flat. I have 2 BiBs Coca Cola Classic, and Big Red. I have a SodaStream Omni Fizz, so with SodaStream you have to carbonate the water 1st, without syrup in it, every time i did this I measured out 8oz of syrup (cause SS syrup is more concentrated) then added syrup to the carbonated water and ot was half flat tasting! The more syrup you add the weaker the fizz gets....which really was unpleasant! To remedy this, I bought myself a Drinkmate, cause with Drinkmate you can carbonate any liqud, without it foaming over, also you can make it more fizzier than SodaStream can! And it wont fizz over because of the perfect seal it creates. Now back to making my BiB syrup soda (just as you're showing)....I used the same ratio of syrup to water and shook the bottle to mix, then I carbonated it with my Drinkmate until I couldn't add anymore CO2. Well, this works out amazingly every time! Not a hint of tasting flat! I'll never own another SodaStream ever again. I hope you end up getting yourself a Drinkmate, you'll be blown away!

Thanks for this. Iv had a sodastream for years but iv only ever used it for sparkling water. I bought the official pepsi today and was very disappointed as it tastes of sweetners. I may try this in the future.

Me too. Just ordered $40 off Amazon of Pepsi and it was HORRIBLE. Tasted like diet, with all the calories of regular! I was so mad when I read the label and learned it was totally different ingredients.

In the uk pepsi have changed their recipe to use sweeteners in regular pepsi and its awful. They have kept the original recipe for draft pepsi in pubs so maybe this bag in box syrup remains original eecipe?

Can you tell me how much of the bag in the box syrups I would need for a 2L bottle? Asking because I have a bunch of empty sodastream Pepsi containers that I want to store the syrup in. How much would I need to to pour into the sodastream lid caps?

A 2L bottle has about 67.6 ounces. The pepsi syrup should be mixed with water at 5:1, so you need about 56.3 ounces of water and about 11.3 ounces of syrup.

I think those Post Mix boxes are about £48 but obviously it makes a hell of a lot of drinks but why not try my idea which by the way I haven't actually done is to buy cheap carbonated mineral water from the supermarket and add Snow Cone syrup as it's still real sugar not artificial sweetener I think ! 😀👍🇬🇧

It's cheaper to use sodastream syrup. They are £5 per 9 ltrs.

Sodastream pepsi is full of sweeteners hence why People are now moving to using bag in box pepsi as its the original recipe that is still being used in pubs.

@@rossco010 The difference is bag in box pepsi max is using aspartame as the sweetener, sodastream pepsi max is using sucralose as the sweetener.

@@LauraRealLife Ive been arguing with my wife about this all week. They are very different. The Sodastream pepsi max tastes very much of artificial sweetener and makes me feel queasy (sick) for hours afterwards. Went back to drinking canned pepsi and i feel fine. Bag-in-a-box is definately my next purchase!
