In this video I show how to bring a Power Point presentation into TriCaster using NDI Scan Converter.

Does this work with vMix? The NDI was not detecting the second monitor from my laptop which was running the PowerPoint slide (as in the 4:30 mark here). It'll only see the main laptop. Thanks.

Is there a way to show the second screen over NDI without having to have a physical monitor connected?

it IS possible but there are a few factors 1. the computer you are using needs to have a secondary monitor output like HDMI or display port. 2. you will need a display emulator to "trick" your computer into thinking there is another monitor attached. These emulators are usually pretty affordable and physically resemble a usb drive. I just tested this method out and it worked flawlessly. This is the only method I have tried out to trick the computer into thinking another monitor is attached.

You may use VGA to HDMI converted. Just plug it in, even without the physical monitor on the other end :)

Hi Richard, I have NDI on a laptop running in City Chamber to do LIVE meetings. My input in my Tricaster 460 Advanced Edition located the laptop and shows the PowerPoint in my input. However, the image of my PowerPoint is a little too large for the input. Is there a way to "shrink" the size to fit in the window?

I did use "Configure ROI" to get the whole image but it is still being cut off on the edges

@@dlcrdz00 interesting I have not seen that before. what's the resolution of your screen set to? it should automatically scale it down.

NewTek ... It just dawned on me, when I created the profile I used 720. Now I’m wondering if I create a new profile using 1080 if that would fix the problem. I’m going to try it out and let you know what I come up with. Thanks for your input

what is the difference between NDI Scan Converter and the iVGA Pro software? It seems like it does the same thing.

they are similar however NDI Scan Converter gives you more control over how you output over the network, with options to change your frame rate, add or remove your mouse pointer, determine what audio source will be sent along with the video, you can also use the webcam and microphone off your device to be sent out as another NDI signal as well via Scan Converter. Scan Converter will also allow you to enable KVM control of the device you are using so you can control it remotely. Also I believe that iVGA Pro will only broadcast the screen or region of interest on the page you are sharing at 20fps. those are the biggest differences in a nutshell.
