I can understand why LEGO would stop producing masks in a number of different colors, but it is odd that even when used later, they weren't recolored. Like, did the Voyatoran really need to be the exact same as the Toa Metru? Were there just that many bulk masks left over from the Metru production that they could make thousands of these little guys without making more masks? Just shift the colors over one or two to where Red is now Black and Green is now White or whatever and it expands the possibility for play immensely. But it's still nice to see that LEGO had such a good relationship with the fans back then to gift these parts to the community and have them dispersed via contests and giveaways.

This comes up in discussions about Time Cruisers, but that's not how LEGO production works-parts are produced as needed. There isn't an excess 'left over', not for larger pieces like masks.

The red Skrall Helmet exsist because we saw in early prototypes that it was planned to come in red with the set.

Man I loved seeing the posts about these on BZPower so cool just to see official bionicle pieces and plastic being plated around with in such wild colours but also just dreaming over what you could do with some of the more plausible ones

The gold & azure Tarix mask actually reminds me a lot of the Stardust Armor set from Terraria. The helmet is gold with similar blue crests in similar areas to the piece, and I feel like this version of it would be a great jumping off point for a moc of the armor set. Which makes me want to see a moc of the Stardust Crusader too... Ooo these prototype masks are devious, making me want mocs I can never make (until someone decides to make replicas) lol

3:30 don't forget ben, that Krikas mask also came in silver in a vehicle set, but I can't get the name at the top of my head 😁

Yeah it came in the Thornatus v9, But the one in that set was silver, this protype part is a much darker silver with black marbled into it ;)

I Checked out the Wednesday sets I think they should be cool for parts . Wicked has to be great too Bionicl is like a fine wine ,It only gets better with age . Not like me .I am so old ,I'm shot ..
